How are things at Transolutions these days? - looking for a better MT company

Anyone care to shed some light on how things are at Transolutions these days? Is there plenty of work? Thinking about this company and would love to hear current input from employees.

I have read the archives and saw that QA can be tough and M-Modal isn't the greatest software. I am working on M-Modal where I am now and it's not my favorite, but Transolutions at least pays more and I am hoping that they have more work than where I am now.

They were pretty good to work for as far as pay and benefits, however, I often ran out of work even with 2 or 3 accounts. They are pretty strict about scheduling, and encourage you to "flex time" when running out of work. I had a good supervisor and found them to be a fair company.

Is this current that there is no work? - Please tell me there is work somewhere!

Please! I need work. I don't need more of no work and working all hours of the days 7 days a week to try to get my hours in. That's what I have now.

When I left, there actually was quite a bit of work, at least on my account as they had just obtained a few new contracts. It is a large percentage of VR.

I started working for Transolutions in June of 2010. There isn't one thing I don't like about the company. The platform, Apex, is very easy to use, the training and supervisory staff is wonderful. There is plenty of work all the time. I have recommended this company to several of my friends and would not hesitate to continue doing so.

they are not a bad company, and I really like the people. While Apex may be "user friendly" it is exceedingly SLOW and there is a large lag when sending and receiving jobs. I've been with them a few years and know I definitely would be making more on a better platform elsewhere but don't want to jump from the frying pan into the proverbial fire. There is work but as they hire more and more people this will vanish, as it always does.

My only complaints about this company are the software (which in this business is HUGE) and their insurance that is not the greatest but the premiums are relatively inexpensive. $100 copay to see a specialist? It's absurd IMHO. It seems they asked everyone and most would rather have cheap premiums and pay more in copays and other expenses.

Also, the work is almost ALL VR and many of the accounts have high ESL so that makes for a horrendous combination. They do pay higher than most for VR, but again, remember there is always a reason....

Do you know if their recent hiring is for new - accounts? They list a

lot of specialties. Are these new accounts do you know or just in general existing ones. I don't want to end up thinking there is a lot of work and it turns out to be a waiting game.

When you say they pay "higher than most" for VR, would you mind saying what that range is, please? I've been interested in Transolutions for awhile, but I am paid 5 cents a line for VR where I am, and I don't want to change if it's less than that. I understand a lot of places are only paying 3 cents a line and I would have to work 75-80 hours a week to survive on that (paying off huge credit card debt and one day, I will be freeeeee!). Thanks for your input.

TS pays on a scale based on production but most Mts on their VR fall into the 5 to 5.5 cpl categories so it's not any better than what you are getting.

I guess I'll stay where I am. The worst thing about it is that we run out of work towards the end of the payperiod. The best thing about it is I never hear from them and they leave me completely alone. Sad when that's the best thing about it, but it's true. Thanks for the input.

I have worked for transolutions now for about 2 months and cannot say enough good things about them - I've been doing transcription for 13 years and have worked for several of the larger companies and this company BY FAR is the best. This includes flexibility of scheduling, pay, how they do holidays, easy platform, etc. Feel free to contact my personal e-mail if you want more info, but I finally feel like I've found my "home" company with them - truly first-class people all the way around.

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill. They expect more and pay less. I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet. They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period. It's better than what I had at Transcend. The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
