I won't take the survey because even though they say it's "confidential", I've owned websites in the past and I can tell you that surveys are NEVER confidential ... someone *always* has your information and knows who posted what - and quite frankly I don't want my name on any "list" because I'm a single mom and need this job for now. So, for those of us who don't want to take the survey, what would make things better for YOU at Medquist? I was just giving this some thought a second ago. For myself, these are the things that are desperately missing from Medquist that would help with my own personal job satisfaction. My personal "holiday wish list", if you will. I know these things are realistic and doable because the MTSO that I work for as a second income offers these things which is a HUGE feather in their cap over Medquist.
Bonus program - bonuses for accuracy, production, and report difficulty. My second job has a "tiered" production bonus so that if you type between 1200-1500 lines you earn 5% of your earnings for that day in bonus. Between 1500-1750 lines, 10% - and so on. I have been known to stay on board and type until I reach the highest bonus which is good for me, and good for the company. They also give small % bonuses for reports that are more difficult. I.e., OP reports earn more than H and Ps. This is a GREAT incentive for people to up-train. Again - good for the company, good for us.
I want one or two primary accounts and "maybe" one or two backups. I am an "Elite Bouncer" - I bounce from account to account all day long, most days I don't type for the same account twice. I literally have DOZENS of client profiles open on my desk top at any given time of the day and my production slows down to a crawl when every account has such widely different specs. If I earn $60 in a day it's been a good day for me. Some days I bottom out at $5.00 an hour. Bouncing doesn't work for anyone - it doesn't work for the company's quality standards, it doesn't work for the facility because they don't get consistent quality and it doesn't work for me. After a few hours of frustration all it does is cause me to log off and walk away - or log onto my secondary job and type away. I have 2 accounts with that company and I know I produce my best possible work with them.
Work type preference. I am extremely proficient at a certain work type. I have heard from every other company that it's the hardest work type to get people to work because of its level of difficulty. For some reason, I happen to love it. I could do it all day, every day. It's difficult and challenging and I love it. Why not fit me to this specific work type preference and let those who hate it stick to their preference?
Lastly, PLEASE. Flexible schedule. I used to be a subcontractor for MQ back in the day. I absolutely ABHOR keeping such a tight schedule. Hate, hate, hate it. I'm not a "schedule" type of person - I work when I feel most productive - sometimes it's mornings, sometimes it's evenings. Let us do our thing when we can give you our "best" and trust that we're going to do our part by getting our 8 hours of work in. Some companies are offering a 12-hour window for an 8-hour work schedule - between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m., or vice versa. LOVE IT. Why can't Medquist do that?
I'm a long-time MQ'er. In fact, you are the only company I've ever worked for outside of the job I was just recently forced to take in order to avoid homelessness (literally). I would LOVE to be able to recommend you to my friends. I would LOVE to come to this site every day and boast that I work for Medquist and to tell everyone why you are the biggest and line-list all the things I love about you. Truth is, I can't do that. Right now, I HATE my job with you. I wake up in the morning to abide by my ridiculous work schedule, and log on to accounts and work types I HATE for money that barely feeds me and my son. I can't give you my best if I hate working for you. You have the ability to make it better for us - but while you are ignoring us, other companies are courting us and some of them are heads and tails above you in the employee satisfaction category.
There. That's my holiday wish list. I hope someone who cares, reads it.
