Question - What if you make your line requirement - But not your hour requirement
Posted: Dec 30, 2011
Do I still have to make up those hours?
yes... or get fired - you are required to get hours in

Unless there is no work and you have a ticket number and choose to take time with no pay. I don't think your PTO will accumulate for that week, however.
Hey, its not my fault there was no work - Oh well off to work I go - HI HO

Sorry to any MTs I am taking work away from, but I need my job too.
I said if you run out of work, then no, - as long as

You fill out a ticket and choose the option to be released from work with no pay.
what are you all doing when there is no work during whatever your shift may have been? Are you having to make up the hours elsewhere? (That could lead to potentially a lot of bouncing around the shifts trying to find work.) ...
on your lines? I have the worst time staying focused and get worried at the end of every pay period if I haven't met my minimum line requirement. I get paid more on minimum wage anyway.
Do you always make your line minimum requirement? ...
Can somebody explain this to me? I know you can work up to 40 hrs weekly, but what is the required line count? I'm wanting to go to PT so I can get another PT job somewhere else, as the NJA drives my nuts. I'm currently required to get 100 lph at FTLB. Is this also my requirement if I go PT? CCM has been MIA, so I'm not getting any help there and having a hard time finding exactly what I'm looking for on Central. Thanks ...
Last month, there was a post about a company that requires 12,000 lines per pay period full time requirement. I cannot remember which company it was. Can anyone refresh my memory? ...
I'm aware of the increase in lines per hour to 186 (average between regular and edited) which I think might be a little challenging to sustain on a regular day-in and day-out basis, but why is no one discussing the increased weekly line requirements. It's a pretty significant jump. ...
It is still 150 lines/hr for straight isn't it? (I think I've gotten a total of 3 straight transcription jobs in the last month).
So, is it 150 lines for VR too, which is what the majority of our work is? Or is the line requirement much higher for VR?
This is all assuming there is work of course........ ...
I notice all of mine corrected lines aren't showing up. I have some "gaps" in my counts since back on line after the outage! You might want to check yours!! I notice the light is still yellow....so use caution! ...
Is it just me or are these companies making it impossible to make any money the way the line count is set up? I can type all day and make very close to minimum wage. It never was this way before. ...
even a little over my shift. I did punch out a few times when work dried up but still when I see how long I worked and what I produced, I come up a bit short. I just had a lot of reports that I was not familiar with and just had a bad day. I was wondering if I will be hearing about this. I always produce more than the minimum so I'm hoping I will get a break. I'm just too mentally and physically exhausted. ...
Please don't bash too much. I took this job, made my bed and have to lie in it. I like the work, am getting use to the dictators, but the realization is setting in that my pay, no matter how hard I work, will not get much over state min. I've already had 2 checks with some MUP and probably will have a third. What gets me is, we're told to speed up play to edit faster, yet I have gotten, on more than one occasion, messages from QA/QC to slow down to get bett ...
I have been here for two years and it seems like I am just struggling to make line count every pay period. I feel like I am walking up a hill in a big wind storm, moving but not really getting anywhere. I work nights and I am getting too tired at night. I know most of this is my fault, but worked as an MT before and did great, no problems what so ever and great pay. Does anyone else feel like this? ...
So, here it goes -- We all know the medical transcription industry has really gone downhill with regard to our pay. I currently just lost about $10/hour to change to editing and I have been doing it for several months hoping that it would get better, but it has not. This is just crazy to me. You still need the same amount of knowledge to create an accurate medical report. I do not know about everyone else, but the reports I am seeing coming ...
Is it possible to make any money doing editing for 0.03 a line? I was offered a position with them and it is 90-95% editing. I have never done editing before and am just wondering if it is something that is worth trying. It is only part-time. I have been trying to find something, but I am not having any luck. TIA ...
A couple of year ago, the company I was working for was off-shoring all they could, which left many of us without work. We were required to clock in, out, in, out, in, out........ during our shift, but had to do so many hours and so many lines. When it go next to impossible, and I was working days, nights, and weekends to try to make the minimum, I complained to my AM and asked that we bring in a third party on this issue, as I was not being supplied with the minimum amount of work r ...
Relatively new. Did not make the required line count one week. Is this a biggie or are you okay as long as you average out for payperiod? What might I expect? ...
I can do it most of the time, but every now and then I miss it, sometimes by as much as 20 lines per hour. I have had 1 email asking that I use my time more productively and make the line count. I actually do use my time as productively as I can. I admit, although I have done this for years, I am not great with VR editing. Also, with the high standards and deductions in FIESA, I really listen and listen again to much of my transcription so I don't fall below wanted numbers there. I am doing ...
that is less than 30 lines; dictator who repeats every sentence with 1 subtle change; DEAD AIR, etc. It is stressful enough that I'm losing money today but to be stressed out about line count and being perfect...I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!! ...
I'm going to start ASR shortly and am wondernig about line counts. I'm required to do 150 lph of straight transcription. My CCM keeps saying not to worry about lines and that I'll be able to easily do 300 lph or more with ASR. Does this mean I now will have two different line counts to meet. Will I be required to do 300 lph for ASR and 150 lph for straight reports? I'm confused on this. Thanks ...
