Princess's e-mail - RI MT

Hey guys, have you read Princess Amy's e-mail on MT/MME of the year? i almost choked on my coffee when I read it. If you are a winner, you will be paid with an all expense trip to the AHDI (or something) convention! How about using that money for the MT's they laid off/terminated. I'm sure they could use it.

like it was 2 tickets to paradise or something and it was Indianapolis, IN for crying out loud. If they sent someone to India to see where most of the work is done, that would at least be worth something.

I won back when it was an essay contest, not just a "who is the TSM favorite" contest. I got paid vacation time and did not use my PTO. But of course it was an AHDI convention, which I soon learned was an "old biddies" convention sponsored by Medquist, claiming how outsourcing and ASR was good for our industry along with VBC and other creative line counting techniques that only somehow pay the MT less. It was only after AHDI the money from the Medquist settlement that everything made sense. ADHI and Medquist/Mmodal are cohorts in crime.

Bottom line, yes Medquist did treat the winners well but there was an ulterior motive for the whole trip which I was too stupid to see at the time. They used parts of our essays and pictures during the convention to promote Medquist on their website. It also seemed to me to be a guilt trip on the form of corporate. They thought that by being nice to 10 of us that somehow made up for the way they treated the rest of the employees. While the names may have changed at the top of the ladder I am sure the philosphy is still the same. This trip is not about the MTs, it is about Mmodal and how good they look with their winners at the convention. It is all for show. Oh and you have to pay taxes on the entire amount of money the company spent on you; airfare, hotel, food, etc.

Do you ever wonder if M*Modal and AHDI are not - 2 separate entities, but ONE AND THE SAME?

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still? I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you. I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind. Okay, it is 8 p.m. Friday night. Just checked e-mails. Noting my CCM sent one out at 4 p.m. Little concerned as to its content. She stated mandatory conference calls in the next 2 weeks with an "agenda," but will be brief. With what I am reading on this board, I am worried what this might be about. I cannot access my web e-mail. I believe there was an upgrade happening this week (thought today). Now they want user name and password. Is our name our e-mail address and is the password the same as the one we log into the intranet with? I'm hoping it is just down for a few hours until they do the upgrade. Any thoughts? Thanks! ...
