heard some of us were having problems even getting DQS to work, but I had no problem. All of a sudden though I am getting a totally alien to me account. ESL is usually no problem with me, but this account not only had PAs dictating the sound was so low and garbled one could understand absolutely nothing. Also a totally alien work type to me. Sad to say, and I do feel for those of you who have this as your primary account, but I abandoned them. It was close to the end of my shift anyway. In all my almost 20 years with Q, this had to be the absolute worst dictation and client ever encountered, IMHO.

I have to do the crappy jobs and so should everyone else. I guess you have no work ethics though, because you dont care that you abandoned those jobs and gave them to someone else. In all your 20 years, you should be able to type anything.

I jump from account to account all day, never getting familiar with anyone, so why should you get better treatment?

If you cannot understand, leave blanks, route to QA or route to client with a note about audio.

UNBELIEVABLE. I wish the Q would get rid of those who dont want to work so that I would have more work available to me.

To make the remark that after 20 years you should be able to type anything is ridiculous. When you can't understand the spoken word due to audio, etc. I don't give a darn how much experience you have. Garbage IN is garbage OUT.

I do understand your plight. For some reason, it seems that when you decide to do just one more report before the end of your shift, it turns out to be something awful. However, you won't get much support if you get on here and admit abandoning it!

Hopefully, you won't get called on the carpet for ditching it, horrible as it was.

I called our QC and CCM and addressed the extreme situation of the reports. Perhaps whatever region they came from had some sort of knowledge of the work types and could use AltS to get it down. My thoughts are, these reports SHOULD be sent back to the hospital. Even QA could not have deciphered them. I normally NEVER abandon, I usually get the garbage others don't want and have 4EVER!! The most expert of experts, unless they had some sort of foundation of the hospital and the strange work type to go by could have halfway understood this. somewhere the buck has to stop, I feel it should have been sent back to the Hospital. I obviously was getting no help with it, and I DID address the situation. It is unbelievable you would call me down after going through all the c*^&*%%y work and downgrades without complaint.

I really did not mean to ask for another job to be downloaded because I was already over 20 mins of my shift. You might not realize, but I am also extremely handicapped and ill, with my DH just home from the hospital from major surgery. I have continued to work through all adversities and don't appreciate someone inferring I am a slacker.

Why not just type only what you hear, even if it is only 1 or 2 words, and then forward with a very kind note to the client "dictation inaudible, audio problems."

I have no idea why you would abandon it. I also have no idea why your CCM would tell you to abandon it for someone else. If it was so bad that you could not hear it, no one else can either.

I do not feel that just because you are handicapped and ill and that your DH just had major surgery, that you should be excempt from this.

Everyone has situations! Everyone has had pay cuts! I feel that what you did was pass the buck and that should not be allowed!

This is what i was told to do. You think I enjoy losing more money, as I NEED THE MONEY BADLY. I have had my internet disconnected 3 times in 2 months already because of cut pay and NO PTO! Quite frankly, I DID send a QA note stating the entire job was indecipherable and that included even who the dictator was, attending anything. I hope they rectified it. If they sent it on to anyone else, then that is something QA and MQ needs to address better. It was not a hospital in this region, but normally that does not make any difference to me. I am a conscientious employee, and you are a disgruntled person who seems to enjoy trolling down on someone. I don't want sympathy, though I did say I am sincerely apologetic and feel for whomever has this account to begin with. DQS has been doing some screwy things lately. Do you think I enjoy getting 1 cents a line? Not hardly nor do I think anyone else should either. I ALWAYS take plenty of time researching old reports, etc; but I was NOT ALLOWED to look up old reports on this account because it was NOT in my BOB. Moderator, you can delete this now if you wish. The angst on this Medquist site is beyond belief.

I was the Anon who received your huffy response and, if you re-read my message, I was sympathetic. I have had the same thing happen to me, usually at the end of my shift (when I'm not at my best) and I understand your frustration.

You may have brought some of this indignation on yourself as you first indicated you abandoned the report (inferring it was thrown back into the pool to be done by someone else) and now say you called your CCM and turned the report over to QA.

In any case, don't get your tail in a knot. We've all been there and, if we haven't abandoned a report, certainly have wanted to!

I passed the first interview, took the test and was told I scored very high and the QA score on the testing was 99.9%. I have 20 years experience.
