Totally Depressing - chillywinter

So depressing...by slowing down to a snail's pace by watching every comma, paragraph break and dash so that I can pass audits, I'm now taking almost a $400/month pay cut. Wonder if I would make more on unemployment??? This job is now laughable (and I'm sure there is a misplaced comma somewhere in this post!).

I really feel for you, in fact, I feel for all of us, stuck at this horrible place, with no place to go or so it seems. I have been checking out everything and anything for the month or so and I know this is the worst time of year to look for a job, but I am going to find something, anything to get out of here and move on with my life. I am so tired of being abused by this horrible place, like you, I just can't take it and I am not about to let it ruin my life. It has taken my money and my confidence to the height of despair, it is definitely time to move on. When I do leave, it will be, turn off my computer and never look back. If they want their junk equipment back, then can contact me. Not one ounce of consideration will I give his place. I urge everyone to get away from this place and let them sink w/o us. They deserve what they dish out! Good bye M*M and I hope you all burn!

I am in the same situation you are. The last 2 weeks I have failed 1 audit each. It was not because of anything medical, but the commas, the dashes. I am worn out. I really am and losing money like crazy. How are you handling things differently from what we normally do looking over a report? I am going so slow I feel like I am meeting myself at the beginning. I think they have stepped up the pickiness personally. So be it.

I usually try to push myself but today I just cannot bring myself to sit and correct ASR that never improves. At least I won't be having to correct reports for a couple of weeks. I am having surgery because of cancer. By the way that is the only reason I could get Christmas off.

Your post made me feel better. Tomorrow my surgery. This is my second go around with cancer. I am taking one day at a time. I sure hope next year is better for everyone. :)

The bottom line is, it's all a SCAM on the MTs. - They are cheating MTs right and left.

How a job that takes both medical and grammar knowledge, a job that not just anyone can jump in and do, a job that they want perfection, has become for some a minimum wage job.

It has become what it has become, because of greed on the MTSOs part, and then the MTs taking it. Working for these places is beyond comprehension, plus the horrible treatment they dish out. Where would anyone would work on the outside and take this? I am still an MT, but not for MM, not any more, I quit a long time ago and struggled, but found something decent. I am retired, so I only want flexible part time and that is what I have, but when I look for other PT jobs, I do not look for an MT position. I applied at Nuance and Keystrokes and turned them both down. I think KS might have been okay, but not Nuance. That place is worse than MM I believe. Ladies/gents, don't put up with this. You have skills that are transferable to other lines of work. And as far as working at home, there are other companies that hire at home positions as well. I think if I had to, I would work for minimum wage, but not take the abuse this place dishes out. I would rather clean houses or be a companion. I have never seen such treatment as MM and they way they treat the people who make them rich.

regarding line counts, pay, etc. I have been a medical transcriptionist for over 23 years, have experience in multiple specialties although orthopedics, neurology and cardiology are my favorite, and I barely bring home $600.00 every 2 weeks. That is with me working 10-12 hours a day, 5 and 6 days a week. I have been searching high and low for a new company, hating to jump ship, but desperately needing to earn more. Can anyone give me insight as to what I may be doing wrong here? I applied to a large company as an IC for evening shift. I passed the first interview, took the test and was told I scored very high and the QA score on the testing was 99.9%. I have 20 years experience.
