that due to the problems of the Kapersky program they are not pushing the remaining few of us to install. I spoke with my CCM yesterday who told me that almost everyone was up on Kapersky at this time. However, there are still some of us that have not been contacted to install due to major problems it causes running MQ programs such as ASR.

Personally, I was not happy with McAfee even in its advanced stage. So I purchased on my own Microsoft One Care Live (I got permison in advance of cours). Microsoft Live One Care will be replaced with a more advanced program within 6-8 months.

it still lets worms and viruses in, and you need to do a virus scan to find them and get rid of them. Then there is the auto update thing the brings your computer to a halt. Plus, you have to have a separate program for malware.

If I remember correctly about 2 to 3 years ago there was a nasty virus going around and many of us were infected. It shut off the fire wall and blew right past McAfee. Within a day or less your computer was toast. The company had to replace a lot of PCs. I knew something was wrong within an hour and I was able to take care of it so I didn't crash and burn, but many others did. It was then I wanted better protection.

McAfee has made some improvements since then, it has the site advisor now and a few other things that provide better protection, which is probably why they are letting it go. When you improve a product it usually costs more money.

they will be going back to McAfee (or another program) or just letting us deal with Kapersky. I have been just turning it off when I'm working because it's just too irritating and affects my production if left on, but I know I can't keep doing that or the computer will be at risk.

I hope they get a clue and switch to another program. I had this happen occasionally with McAfee but not CONSTANTLY like Kapersky.

I just have to wait a little longer, but that's okay.

I just found out that even though I am doing the minimal required lines (120) I am not earning minimum wage and so even if I increase my lines I won't make any more money....Until I am typing over 160 lines. Just for the heck of it, I went to the resume section of this board, and noticed there were quite a few MTs with "entry-level or less than 5 year's experience" wanting to be compensated 10-15 cpl -- I really seriously doubt that is going to happen, especially for a "newer" MT. I would suggest that if you are really serious about finding a job in MT, then revise your expected compensation rate to something a bit more realistic. ...

I was looking for job openings at our local hospital and it's a long story but, found out that they have taken their transcription back in-house. Too many mistakes, not enough quality work, bad turn around times, et al. I am applying today, in person with them.
