I agree with her 100%. There will always be more of us, and we really could make a difference if we would just band together. I have always wanted to start a new association for MTs-AMERICAN MTs. Don't let them win.

There have been at least 2 assocations for American MTs, the American Medical Transcription Advocacy Group (AMTAG), which I think is defunct, and the American Transcription Association (ataus.org), definitely defunct. Those would be worth researching, in my opinion, to hopefully learn why they haven't or didn't succeed. Forewarned is forearmed and all that.

I know that I didn't join ATA because I simply couldn't afford the $100 registration fee, though I definitely agreed with their goals and direction, so a factor like that would be a consideration in starting anything up. I would love to see a viable organization that really was for the U.S. MT, unlike AHDI.

if she is still turning down those 4 cpl offers. That post is 7 years old. Times have changed and there aren't nearly as many options now as there were then. I have a feeling if that MT is still in MT, then she's stuffed her pride under her chair and accepted that demeaning 4 cpl until either miraculously something better comes along or she's gotten out of MT altogether.
