I have been in this business for 33 years. I recently posted on the main board about having a physical disability and how MTSOs do not take this into consideration, regarding federal laws. I recently had an eye exam and found out that the peripheral vision on my right side has deteriorated. This was an eye exam done at Wal-Mart. I had my last exam done there six years ago as well and at that time, the doctor asked me if I had ever had a stroke. I told him that as far as I knew, that I had not and that I only had cerebral palsy.
I had a call from the "head eye doctor" today, (after having a disasterious experience), and she explained to me that I am losing my visual field capability on my right side, which she believes is due to trauma. Interesting, because of the fact that I was physically abused by 2 former husbands. I have noticed that I have become aggravated at times, for no reason. I thought it was more of the fact that I was dealing with companies such as Nuance or MModal. In part, it was my fault, but I am realizing now, that if you have been "abused," especially physically, it may take years for these thinkgs to take effect.
If an eye doctor makes mention of a sudden change in your vision, and refers you for example, to an ophthalmologist, take heed tol it and don't ignore it. I think a lot of people may say a change in vision is due to "aging," when in fact it could be something else. This applies to hearing as well.
