this is a pretty impressive site: check out the management team and the testimonials. there is basically nothing this company does not do...I wonder how much they pay - do they hire from the USA?

People anywhere can advertise anything. It does not mean they are successful.

There are a lot of reasons hospital administrators won't use foreign companies for anything related to revenue.

Many MTs have already transitioned out of MT into other fields. Those who transitioned into coding have already moved into related fields, some several years ago, or are moving into position to do so. They have been employed in well-paying jobs for years already.

Some here have made it their job to search out negativity and spread discouragement to keep others from moving on. They provide no constructive advice on what they CAN go into. They just spout gloomy predictions based on misunderstanding and ignorance of the facts.

In my view, keeping others from advancing into something that could feed their families is wrong. It is, essentially, theft of their hopes and their future income.

I wasn't impressed. When there are grammatical errors in the descriptions of their services and wording that doesn't make sense, one wonders just how accurate their coding and transcription services are. People can say anything. That doesn't make it true. Buyer beware.

American employers treat coders extremely well. Working conditions and pay are very good.

Why would you need to work for an Indian company? That doesn't make sense.

The fact that there are few coding jobs in your area is not the fault of the HIM industry. There are probably few jobs in general in your area. Perhaps you should consider moving.

That all of the testimonials are anonymous? Either they are fakes, or the practices are ashamed to be outsourcing their health information to India. Either way, I don't think any of them represent a glowing recommendation to this business.

Sentence dictated as "She also has a small C5/6 {s/l DISS}." He's really emphasizing the "ISS" sound. I know it would make sence for it to be disc, but the sentence sounds incomplete to me? I feel like there should be herniation or protrusion or bulging at the end of the sentence if it were "disc"? Could the "diss" sounding word be short for something? Thank you!! ...

what they offer in terms of compensation with all the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the QA/MT positions. When you read it, it sounds like the person/persons they are looking for would bring a lot of experience and talent to their company. I hear both sides. My only problem is that I have been here for 8 years and making just over half what I started at. I've got a mumbler who is saying either "hypothyroidism" or "hyperthyroidism." My only clue is that this patient has a high TSH level. When I googled, there were many sites about thyroid, and the majority seemed to indicate that low TSH = hyperthyroidism and high TSH = hypothyroidism. Is this right? I guess I always thought it was the reverse, but apparently this was incorrect. Any experts on the thyroid out there?? ...

regarding line counts, pay, etc. I have been a medical transcriptionist for over 23 years, have experience in multiple specialties although orthopedics, neurology and cardiology are my favorite, and I barely bring home $600.00 every 2 weeks. I just love getting emails stating that we are to read the MT instructions for each dictation, speaker, worktype...every job that you do. This is insanity. They want our line counts up, x amount of lines per hour, they want this and they want that and then before each job, some less than a minute long, we are to read at least a page of MT instructions for some of the jobs/speakers/worktypes that are longer than the dictation itself.
