???? Just reading all this news about - pay cuts, etc.....what is going on?

Posted: Mar 19, 2015

There have been no conference calls for me?  I emailed my TSM about this and he just simply said it doesn't apply to everyone and not to "get excited about nothing"....His typical short and condescending response to everything.

Nothing? It's NEVER nothing with this place.  I guess it doesn't apply to those of eScription....at least not YET.....

This place is something else..........

More pay cuts?? - On BeyondTXT

[ In Reply To ..]
Yeah, I'm wondering too. Haven't heard anything about this from TSM.

This applies to FutureNet and Bayscribe accounts - Poorhouse

[ In Reply To ..]
And you're right, this place is something else.

Only certain platforms? - OnBeyondTXT

[ In Reply To ..]
Thanks. Don't understand why they would cut out shift differential only for certain platforms. Can anybody explain?

?? - Poorhouse

[ In Reply To ..]
I wish I could answer that. It does seem very unfair, but unfair is the Nuance way. Someone asked that exact question during the conference call but no answer was given. Regardless of the platform, the time of the day or the day of the week, none of us is fairly compensated by this company. It's so discouraging.

It sounds like those on the Bayscribe platform - were making too much

[ In Reply To ..]
According to Nuance. Silly me, I think if the platform is that productive why aren't we all using it and making more?

Nope. The higher-ups apparently decided that "wasn't fair to the other platforms" and then proceeded to dock these people somehow with the first grid plan, and now they feel they are STILL making too much, so being Nuance they are now docking them again and had a meeting to discuss and apparently did not want to deal with the outcry so just cut them off at the knees. Typical Nuance.

What's unfair to the other platforms is WE don't get paid enough, so why don't you make it go the other way, Nuance?

Please correct my assumptions if incorrect. I am not on Bayscribe and have no personal knowledge of your situation. I have, however, been reading all of your messages and I really feel for you. I wonder if you did have some sort of a contract, either from your company that got bought out or Nuance? If so they would not have the right to do this.

However, they usually cover themselves pretty well with their army of lawyers before they swoop in and screw the MTs out of a decent living.

In my case, my company that sold to Nuance had such guilt (I presume anyway) we were given 6 months of pay bumps from them, supposedly to give us time to "get up to speed" - in reality time to realize there was no other option and that our pay had been drastically reduced, practically halved.

You see it time and again with these buyouts on this board. You feel you are worth more and then you go out and see that other places don't offer more. But they're nicer, so maybe that's worth it. Still very difficult. At times I have put resumes out and have had nary a bite for weeks.

Personally, I keep Nuance part time and get another part time. This way I don't get too depressed by the actions of the FIESA and my other company is brilliant about telling me how great I am and I believe there is potential for increased earnings, but it always takes awhile, and remember, they have to compete with the likes of the monsters Nuance and MModal and you have seen what they're capable of.

Those Bayscribe people, if there is any hope for you to organize in any way and demand any sort of adherence to any contract and/or the right to unemployment due to you being sold a load of malarkey and this being a completely different job, I would chase that because it is definitely a different ballgame now.

Welcome to Nuance wage slavery. So sorry.
wasnt just buyout people - I was hired...

just a couple months ago and given the pay grid/patient safety compensation plan that every other platform and ours has, but now, we have to follow a different pay plan.. I am not on bayscribe... totally misleading when they hired me
Contract - SoFedUp2
[ In Reply To ..]
During the conference call, someone who had been with Nuance only a very short time (I believe she said 2 months) brought up the fact that she had a contract and she agreed to a certain CPL and that with this new pay grid she would be making much less than that contractual rate she agreed to. She was told that HR has the right to make changes to policies, accounts, rates, and I think some other things. There was a lot of talking over one another during the call.

Many on the call had figured out how much they will be loosing (either per check, per hour or per month) and cited their numbers and it was very sad. The leader kept telling them to talk to their TSM about individual numbers. It was so frustrating because the MLS already had figured out their individual numbers. It was a weak attempt to pacify and get off the topic. They stumbled all over trying to answer questions in a way that didn't make it sound like we were totally being screwed over. It was very obvious everyone knew that is exactly what is happening--once again, the MLS are getting screwed over.

I've been with Nuance for a number of years, acquired through a buyout. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to pay cuts with this company, unfortunately. I have a sick feeling it won't be the last either, but I really can't see how I can make it with the most recent cuts.

I completely agree with you that Nuance should make it go the other way with regard to the other platforms not being paid enough. Incredibly ironic that it is the non-Nuance platforms that "make more" or "have advantages" (still don't get what that means?) as the higher ups say. That alone tells me all I need to know about how much they care about the MLS, their bread and butter.
what amazes me is most my team's avg lph - Sicofit
[ In Reply To ..]
on Bayscribe is in the 140s. I averaged around 200 lph on DocQScribe before I left MQ due to restructing and loss of all my accounts. I no longer get my previous dictators who I used to make high 180s via Bayscribe since Nuance took over my previous company and now I bounce from account to account on STATs it seems. My line counts suck anymore.

the worst company I've ever encountered - none of your business

[ In Reply To ..]
I was one of the top producers on my team. Since the pay cuts, I make a dollar over the minimum wage in my state. I loathe this company. I hope I live long enough to see it picked apart by a hostile takeover if it doesn't crash and burn into bankruptcy on it's own before it can be dismantled.

They are basically going to make the MT who sends work to QA pay the QA salary?  Is that even legal?  I've sucked it up for a long time now, living with the ASR pay cut, but there is no way I'm going to work for 1.5-3 cents per line!    Back in the ancient times of MQ, we had no QA.  We left a blank and put in a s/l.  We learned from reading tiny lines in big books because there also was no Google and no second ear.  Of course, the dictato ...

I have red enough about this Mts searching job. I am a new MT too. I have searching for job as much as everyone else. It is very sad when you get to this point and find out yourself you are not going to be able to make it as fast as you thought. Today is my graduationf from Mt, and I am not excited about it, but I will still attend it. Why do people keep posting about being fired? I have read posts about some getting fired, but seems like a few of them were months ago, a year ago etc. Only a couple I have noticed were let go recently and they all said it was due to either not making minimum wage or not meeting line counts. Am I missing something here? Why does everyone seem to think we are all going to be fired? ...

Reading Ahead While Editing

I've read in quite a few posts here that one of the ways to speed up your editing process is to read ahead of the highlighter. I've also read that some people read up to a whole sentence ahead.
