Announcing the newest whatever bigwig, did it sound to anyone else like they were going to be transitioning out of transcription and into just technology, or was it just me? I know I've read on here some have thought this was going to happen, but never really read it like I did today in this latest e-mail. Oh well, if it happens, saw it coming.

There was another e-mail awhile back that said something similar, something about the EHR replacing MT. I don't know what their exact words were and don't remember the date of that e-mail.

How long have you been with this company? Why would they let us know that? They don't want a mass exodus and then no one to do the clean-up work. Everything they do is for the welfare of upper management so they can enjoy their secure livelihoods. They don't care if MTs are going broke, can't pay bills, losing homes, can't keep food on the table, etc. We are nothing to them as human beings.

There has never been a great deal of profit in transcription services. I would assume they are going to concentrate on technology but since they are dealing with hospitals and clinics will continue to provide transcription services to those that need it while trying to convince them to switch to more technology based solutions. I'm not an optimist but I think it will be very difficult for them to pull out of transcription altogether. I do believe though, that they will need fewer and fewer of us as time goes on.

They just want to make more money for the high-paid administrators and stock holders and buy more companies and shove us out of the picture. I actually think it would be funny for 1 day if none of us worked and they relied on their software to do the transcription and all those high-paid idiots have to fix all errors.

Did anybody get an e-mail like this today? Just about 4 PM when I was starting my shift, I got a letter from payroll saying I would now be getting $7.50 an hour when I take PTO, when before I was told by payroll, it would be $9.50 an hour. Sentence dictated as "She also has a small C5/6 {s/l DISS}." He's really emphasizing the "ISS" sound. I know it would make sence for it to be disc, but the sentence sounds incomplete to me? I feel like there should be herniation or protrusion or bulging at the end of the sentence if it were "disc"? Could the "diss" sounding word be short for something? Thank you!! ...

what they offer in terms of compensation with all the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the QA/MT positions. When you read it, it sounds like the person/persons they are looking for would bring a lot of experience and talent to their company. I hear both sides. My only problem is that I have been here for 8 years and making just over half what I started at. Why would they have spent the last decade cutting, cutting, and then cutting some more only to give a raise now? Also don't like to be a negative Nellie, but just don't see them giving us a raise. I agree that it can be frustrating to read the complaining on this board, but there are so many that are struggling I really feel their pain.
