what companies are more flexible with their hours/schedules - Ang
Posted: Aug 04, 2010
I read a post on one of the boards yesterday by someone who was asking what companies are more flexible with their hours/schedules, etc. Wanted to read responses and cannot find the original post to save my soul!! Anybody know what board it is on? Thanks
It seems to have been removed. Not sure why, but maybe it - took a turn for the nasty. nm

Any Companies Offer Flexible Schedules? Dec 28, 2011Just wondering if there are any companies out there that offer flexible schedules. I am currently a substitute teacher, so I don't have a set schedule for work. I have about 5 years of transcriptions experience and would like to pick up about 15-25 hours of transcribing per week, but I don't want a set schedule. Any ideas? Thanks! ...
Companies With Employee Status That Offer Flexible Schedules? Aug 05, 2012I know this has probably been asked so many times on this board, but I am currently working for a company as an employee, full time, and I'd really like to move on. I've been there 6 years and the only thing that is holding me back right now is the fact that I need to have a flexible schedule and I don't really want IC status.
Right now, I work 2 hours in the morning and 6-7 hours in the evenings. However, if one of my kids has a dance class or karate in the evening and I ...

FLEXIBLE HOURS Aug 24, 2012If you are considered an independent contracter, can these companies require you to do the work on set hours? Why Are Companies Stuck On Everyone Working 40 Hours A Week? Mar 02, 2012I've got great experience and when I'm scheduled to work, I'm there working. What the hell difference does it make if I only want to be scheduled for 6 hours on four of my weekdays? Would they rather I said I would work 8 hours and actually only work 6 like a lot of people? I'm willing to work 10 hours on Sunday, so we're talking 34 hours a week and more if I have the time, and I'm not asking for benefits. I'm so sick of this job search. ...

Do Companies Hire ICs With A Line Committment Rather Than Hours? Jan 03, 2015I have a full-time MT job working in-office, but would like to make extra money as an IC in the evenings and on weekends, but I don't necessarily want to commit to a certain amount of hours, but would rather commit to producing a minimum amount of lines per day or per pay period.
Any companies that work that way? ...
Being A Flexible MT Apr 03, 2012I interviewed this morning for a transcription position that I will need to be flexible for front and back office backup. This interests me and I am very interested in it as I think MTs need to be more flexible in this day and age. This is a sole FP physician and she does do EMR but also keeps her own chart record by using the sticky back paper. So she does double duty. I believe this is a wonderful idea and will keep some of us MTs working into the future. She always has the record there w ...
Optiscript - How Flexible? Nov 18, 2011Can anyone shed light on how flexible optiscript in State College is? I read on here how the unit manager will work with you if you need to change a schedule or need time off, but if you give an 8 hour schedule do they mind if you do not always adhere to it minute by minute or do they give you a little room to breathe. I heard they have split shifts but just wondering how strict they are with the schedules you give. TIA. ...

Independent Contractor - Must Have Flexible Schedule To Qualify For IC Status Mar 11, 2010I am thinking about pursuing a job as an independent contractor as I am retired and want something to do more than the money (retired hospital transcriptionist). It is my understanding that an IC must have flexible schedule to qualify for IC status, yet the job ads specify second and third shift as well as weekend days. Can they do this? I know the government is cracking down on ICs to make sure they are truly ICs (we all know the transcription companies will do everything to preserve their bo ...

IC Schedules Sep 08, 2010I am new to independent contractor status, so I just have a few questions, so bear with me. I will be contracted with a company to do the work, who is contracted with the the business that needs the work done. I was told of the work schedule. I was told by a legal person that ICs set their own schedules; days/hours to work. So which is it? Can the transcription company that I would contract with tell me the hours I need to work or can I tell them which hours/days I ...
MT Schedules Jan 27, 2011I thought usual MT shifts involved one weekend work day a week. Is this normal? I was offered both weekend nights and obviously they are "allowed" to do what they want, but seems a little unfair. I don't expect any nasty responses of like take what you can get sort of thing, I am just trying to get a consensus of schedules and if I should bring this up, considering there won't be any work on the weekends...
thanks ya'll ...
No Set Schedules? Jun 08, 2013Are there any companies anymore that do not require you to set in stone your hours that you want to work? The company I work for now has a 12-hour timeframe that you can do your 8 hours in, but its one of those things that when you start, if you get up or get a phone call or have to do anything whatsoever, the time is counted off of your productive time, and you have to add it back on the back end so you end up working throughout the whole 12 hours to get your 8.
What if I don't want ...
HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THE SCHEDULES Jun 09, 2014Seems like the QC and TSM are not on the same page - is this the old North region (now whatever) where the QC seems to communicate more than the TSM? As far as I'm concerned, they can all go jump in the Lake (and that's putting it nicely). ...
