Just wondering if any of you know of any companies which are hiring part-time transcriptionists for 12 to 15 hours per week?
Thank you

Maybe strictly IC. I can't think of any who would hire you as an employee for 15 hours a week, but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't out there somewhere.
I have a full-time MT job working in-office, but would like to make extra money as an IC in the evenings and on weekends, but I don't necessarily want to commit to a certain amount of hours, but would rather commit to producing a minimum amount of lines per day or per pay period.
Any companies that work that way? ...
I'm looking to work preferably 16 hours a week. It can be IC, statutory, or employee status. I want to keep yearly income around $9000. I will consider 20 hours. Thanks in advance. ...
I've got great experience and when I'm scheduled to work, I'm there working. What the hell difference does it make if I only want to be scheduled for 6 hours on four of my weekdays? Would they rather I said I would work 8 hours and actually only work 6 like a lot of people? I'm willing to work 10 hours on Sunday, so we're talking 34 hours a week and more if I have the time, and I'm not asking for benefits. I'm so sick of this job search. ...
part-timers for weekend work anymore? That's the way it was done for years, full-timers for M-F and part-timers for weekends, and it worked great because so many MTs are looking for extra weekend part-time work anyway. It seems to be mostly the bigger corporations, as usual, changing things for the worse here. Is it just the laziness of the HR & management people, not wanting to process part-timers? I suspect a lot of the very-experienced MTs are working at small ...
I know this is an extreme long-shot, but I'm wondering if there are any good MT companies out there that hire M-F and pay a fair line rate (for the way things are today anyway). It doesn't matter to me whether I work employee or IC. I just left Nuance a couple months ago and am working general transcription on my own schedule right now, but it's way too strenuous for the pay rate and the work is sporadic. I've got to figure out my next move, but I hate to go back to working e ...
I have a friend who is looking for an MT job. She is just about done with school. Can anyone help me out with companies who hire newbies? I know there was a list on here at one time, long ago, but I cannot seem to find it. I think it was actually on the "old" board.
Thanks! ...
I am taking the Careerstep course and I am going to finish very soon. I hear that many companies wave their experience requirement if you take the Careerstep course, because it is so thorough and you transcribe so many reports that you can easily find a job. Is this true? Anyone out there graduate from Careerstep and find a job easily as a new MT. I mean how do you get the jobs if you do not have the experience. ...
I have a PT gig working as an IC but need a FT gig so want it as employee status.
Which companies hire employees rather than ICs? NO large nationals, please! I'm not gonna go there. :) ...
Does anyone know of stateside MTSOs who hire MTs outside of the country. After 30 plus years will be retiring outside of USA and would like to continue to work. ...
Would anyone who has been denied applying to a company because of the State they live in please post the name of the Company and the name of the State(s) they do not hire from.
I think this only pertains to EMPLOYEE Status, but if Independent Contractors have been denied, please indicate that you wanted IC status.

I've given VR a fair shot for close to a year now, but I still type much faster than I edit, so I've lost quite a bit of money since my account went to VR last year. I know that VR is almost everywhere these days, but does anyone know of any decent companies that still have straight typing and are actually hiring right now? I'm looking for acute care and I really don't care if it's IC or employee status at this point. I just want to do regular transcrip ...
Does anyone know of a good company to work for that hires part time?? That is all I want and alot of the companies on Job seeker's board want full time. I would appreciate any input!! ...
Hi. I'm wondering for those of you who either attend/attended M-Tec or Andrews, about how many hours per week do you spend on the classes (total, including all studying)? M-Tec's website says 25-30 hours. Do you find this to be accurate? I did not see an answer on the Andrews website. I want to be sure before I commit that I have the necessary time to spend on the course. While I'm willing to put 30 hours in, I do not want to find out that in re ...
I am PT now but cannot, due to medical reasons, work the 24 hours required. I am waiting to see if I get disability and, if not, will have to fight with a lawyer to try to get it, in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone works only 16 hours per week, if so, did you need a doctor's note to request this. I can get a doctfor's note with no problem, but Im afraid MM will just fire me instead and I dont want that to happen until I get disability. Thanks for any informati ...
Due to medical reasons, I now work 20 hours/week, but have to cut back to 18 hours/week. I read in the policies/procedures it is okay if you have a doctors note. I can get a doctors note Tuesday, but I was wondering if anyone is working 18 hours/week and if they gave you any grief or if you know of anyone being fired for requesting 18 hours/week. Thank you for any information you can give me. ...

for a psychiatrist as a scribe from home. He has also asked me to make reminder calls to patients for their appts the following day.
