I sent you an email last night when I originally saw you post. If you scroll down a bit. There is a response from Greg, who is the owner of SmartDoc as to what happened. I'm in a similar situation, as I have been offered another position as well, besides my position with SD -- however, I intend to keep my position there and work both positions. I don't put all my eggs in one basket and give notice on my job, and quit, because anything could change on a moment's notice. Even we employees were not made aware of the fact that this had happened, and we had first choice on the account.

That is the email I received from Giselle when I asked about the repeated delays.

That isn't jumping the gun...that is flat-out LYING.

If you read the post from Greg, then you will find out that Giselle basically was "jumping the gun" on this new account. For reasons, nobody could see, it didn't happen, and she may have been as blindsided as everyone else was as well. I work for the company, and I wasn't even aware that we didn't get the account until recently, so get over it.

...that she was the only "face" the company had for the new people. And it wasn't jumping the gun - she LIED. And she represented the company. And if she did all this with the president not knowing - that just speaks to how uninvolved he is with the company that he has no idea that all these people got hired and what they were told.

Here is your response regarding the oncology account from SmartDoc, Inc. This is coming from Greg Caminiti, SmartDoc's president. The person who hired you, Giselle, was an agent of our company and was authorized to do so. Regretfully, Giselle was guilty of counting her chickens before they hatched. This large, national, oncology group confirmed via informal communications that they would, indeed, be coming onboard. It appears that, after much hemming and hawing (thus the delay) this was not to be the case (for reasons apparently beyond their control). To exacerbate circumstances, Giselle has been hospitalized over a period of time, thus delaying a timely response from SmartDoc.

Even though I do not approve of Giselle's jumping the gun and hiring before the client actually signed, I take full responsibility for this unfortunate set of circumstances. We will still be hiring from this list of oncology MLSs, but not at the scale originally anticipated. As an aside, we incorporated in 1997, almost all of our work is transcribed in the US and we always pay on time.

I doubt it since that name doesn't ring a bell to me. Until the president of SmartDoc mentioned her name, if that is really her/his name,that shows no class on his part. If he is the owner he should known what goes on in his own company. Shameful at best. Shakes my head in how these companies act. Back to the farm for me.

I have a question for all MedQuist MTs . . . I called them and was told that I qualified and passed MedQuist's test. That was about a week ago. Does anyone ever get hired from these companies who are continually posting help wanted ads?!?!? I have applied to at least 15 companies posting ads for help only to sit here waiting for at least 5 weeks, so far, for an answer to any for which I applied! I have been a MT for 30 yrs. I had to stop working 4 yrs ago due to health issues, then finally had 2 surgeries which pretty much took care of the problem. While I was out on disability I got a grant, went back to an AHDI approved University and took refresher courses in MT fulltime for a year. Now, I'm ready to get back to work. Eventually I was able to take over the general practice but had to give it up because my husband's health was critical.
