Transportal being sold? sm - Anon
Posted: Mar 18, 2015
Heard a rumor that Transportal is being sold out to Scribe and Scribe is
supposed to be hiring the MTs from Transportal. Anyone else hear about this? TIA
"tumor"? This is when you know - this field is haunting you

I had a nightmare about pressing "backspace" and "delete" on a report...ugh
TransPortal not sold, merged with Scribe - MT1999
[ In Reply To ..]
TransPortal merged with Scribe. The MT's were just made IC's instead of employees. I worked there up until recently when I was fired for a made up reason. I think they had to "downsize" after the merger. It's not a great company to begin with, so I'm assuming they merged to keep from going under. Anyway, if anyone is considering applying there, don't bother! It's not worth it!
Well, for the second time in not too many years I have been sold to MEDQUIST..............WTH????
No, I am not going to work for you no matter how many times you buy the company I work for. I would rather work at McDonalds or be a door greeter at Wal Mart.

I don't work for TCI every day but I just read my email and there were notes that it either lost the account and then one said it was sold and the account I was on wasd deactivated? Does anybody know anything about this? ...
to the owners. Are they still involved, or when the MTs find out about the company being sold, are nowhere to be found for questioning. I would like to know how long the original owners are involved when they announce they sold the company, i.e., Encompass bough by Nuance. I have not heard a peep from the owner and wondered what the heck is going on. Dusting off the resume. ...
I am relieved. I am going to file for unemployment then get another job. I am not sad at all. I spent 14 years doing this job. I was getting bored anyway.
PS: It was to MModal.

"The company has sold part of it's holding in its subsidiary viz Godrej Agrovet Limited, entire holding in M'Modal Inc and its joint venture company viz Godrej Hershey Limited," the filing added.

I also found an interesting article on the legalities of small VA contractors winning contracts as a "small" business while combined with huge businesses...

It appears that Alpha is separating from huge, Indian-owned Imedx,
so hopefully the complaints filed with the contract officers and DOL were starting to sink in. ...
Is that typical for when a company is sold? I had not heard of it before. When does Probity plan to go to speech recognition? I see they have an ad on another site. Do new employees applying at Probity get the subsidy as well? I wonder if it is worthwhile to apply and work for them for the life of the subsidy (6 months) and then quit. Anyone from Probity have any insight on this? ...
I like that I will be an employee and that the office people are staying on with them. I hope that this is good and that they don't try to get rid of us; I really love the account I am on. Anyone else from MED-X here? ...
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks! ...
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
