When a company is sold, what happens to the - snoopy

to the owners. Are they still involved, or when the MTs find out about the company being sold, are nowhere to be found for questioning. I would like to know how long the original owners are involved when they announce they sold the company, i.e., Encompass bough by Nuance. I have not heard a peep from the owner and wondered what the heck is going on. Dusting off the resume.

What is it you precisely would like to know though? Have you tried contacting them and they are not getting back to you? Or do you want them to update you as to what their personal financial dealings are? Or do you want to know if your job will change?
MTs are usually part of the acquisition price so you're an asset that's been sold. How the company will be post sale is likely how Nuance is run at this time. You're more than likely going to see changes in the staff you had day-to-day contact with.
But the reality is when the news of the sale is made, it's often still quite some time before major changes begin to happen.

I have over 30 years in this field and it seems that a lot of companies are either cutting the MT's pay to edit on ASR and/or are offshoring work out to India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc. I don't believe in sending our jobs overseas, and I've also given ASR at whirl (a long whirl lol) and I still couldn't increase my lines per hour to compensate for the cut in pay that I had to take by doing ASR.
