Taken off account at SoftScript - Why?

Any idea why they take you off an account without telling you?

They are known for that. You make a mistake with their extensive account specs, they just pull your account without saying a word about it. You log in to work, account gone. You can email and ask and they will tell you and they will add you on a different account with new specs to learn, which makes no sense. They would be better served by pointing out your mistake and have you learn from it, not give you a new account to learn. Make too many account specific errors and some stranger, who you have never heard of, will call you and say "Management has decided to let you go at this time, have a good day."

As the other poster said, if you make mistakes with the acct specs, they pull you no questions asked. I had the same thing happen - I logged in one morning and noticed that my list of 12 accounts was down to 5. I emailed my TL and asked what was going on and she said that since I obviously couldn't get the hang of that many accounts, she was
scaling me back to just a few to learn. However, I wasn't told BEFORE It happened - only after I emailed her several times to get information. The only reason I think she FINALLY answered was because I suggested if she didn't have time to tell me I could go over her head to her supervisor. They tend to remove you if make mistakes in acct specs and will say "we told you if you continued to make errors you would be removed immediately." In my opinion, if they would scale down the acct specs and make it SIMPLER for the MTs to do the work they wouldn't have so much turnover or such unhappy clients.

Well, they mismanage MTs and rather than have an appropriate amount of MTs on each account, they prefer to put everybody on EVERY account, meaning you have so much of those crazy account specifics to learn, which is different for each account.

On an account that I had for ONE day, I did an account spec wrong, something simple like bolded something I shouldn't and I got an email that said this would not be tolerated, I couldn't make errors such as that and I would be pulled from the account if that happened again. It actually shocked me a little bit, as I would expect a little more understanding of a simple mistake, since it was my first day on the account.

During my time there, I had accounts pulled without notice, yet I had to report when I was out of work and they would add a new account on, rather than point out the mistake of my old account and let me correct it. My last paycheck before Christmas, which I needed the money for Christmas gifts, I was fired, stating my QA score was 90%. I have never in my life had a QA score such as that and it was due to account specific errors. If you type a report and make 10 errors within the report that are the exact same account specific error, they dock you all ten times.

They don't even deserve MTs to bother working for them, because they certainly don't care about the MT. I wish people would stop taking the job (most don't last anyway) and let them run their CONTINUOUS ad that they have to run, asking for help, and just MAYBE they will get a clue on how bad they really are!

In my 90-day probation period, my first QA score was 99%. My mentor called, said everything was fine, no problem. My second QA score was 100%. My mentor called again and even said..."There is nothing I can tell you, you are wonderful" no problems. My third and last QA score happened to be a new account that I had just gotten that night and I made account specific errors and my score was 94.9%. I received an email from team lead saying what my score was and that mentor would call to go over it with me and see what changes I should make. The email even said to strive harder to make QA scores. I never received call from mentor and then the next day someone called me and said I was fired, due to low QA scores.

It really shocked me that an MT who had 100% QA on the prior review and only had a low QA score because of specs would be fired. I actually was glad it happened during probation though, because I cannot even imagine the stress I would have gone through knowing that at any point you are simply fired for not meeting QA, rather than given a probation period or something along those lines.

I had several really good QA scores in a row - trainer and TL telling me how great I was doing - no problems to worry about - etc - and then all of a sudden 1 score with acct spec errors and I was demoted to full QA again with no hope of being told when I'd be off again. So I immediately started looking - it was crazy to try and get any help or clarification for the parts of the acct specs that made no sense. So glad to be out of that madness

This was early in the game when I first started and I only had like 3 or 4 accounts other than this account, but I never even typed 1 job for the account but did notice after several other accounts had been added that this particular account was no longer showing up. Even on new accounts that they gave me, I barely had any work and would generally run out or never get any work for those newer accounts for the day. That is why I quit. Too many accounts with no work.

I had 6 accounts, made some account specific errors on the newest one on the first day I had it, and my PM threatened me with losing that account. I said, "Oh, wow, that would be great!" Fact: They do not like sarcasm at SS. You can always tell when heads are about to roll in management because they become even more hostile to the MTs. This is the same PM who asked me what I thought I brought to the SS "team." I said other than showing up on time for all my shifts, meeting line requirements and QA scores, logging on when she called me to ask for extra help even on my day off, I didn't see what more I could do except apply for -her- job. She never brought up anything like this again to me--mostly because she was gone by the next week. I loathed that woman. I now have a PM who seems decent but I am always wary of anyone there.

and one day after working 3 hours and making about $10 b/c I was constantly having to look at the multitude of acct specs, I just emailed my PM and quit, and I have had long-term jobs in the MT world. I don't just quit for no reason. The harshest environment I have ever worked in. Their acct specs are a HOT MESS, not in any kind of workable order. There will be a random tidbit of information in an obscure place that you were supposed to sort out of the 15 pages of specs. I actually thought I would make money there b/c they are straight typing, but time spent on acct specs is ridiculous. I also passed QA right away but then fell below b/c I was dinged for the same acct spec mistakes over and over in the same report - had to have a conference call with my PM who told me if it continued, I would be referred to "upper management." Put that on top of no vacation time, work every holiday, etc as a newbie, no thanks.

I am not sure if this is going on with your accounts, but I have noticed on my primary that there are a lot of old reports in there, from days and days ago.  A few weeks back my team leader said ignore those TAT times because they were pulling old stuff for "training."  It started with DS, and now I notice that there are old H&Ps and Consults in there.  So I am wondering if they are training Transcend employees to do my account, maybe VR, or I guess it could be the hospital tr ...

Did anyone ever contact a hospital after your account was lost to find out where it went and you were still employed with the former MTSO that had the account.  Concerned about doing this if the hospital were to contact the MTSO and still employed there but not overly happy anymore.  I would rather keep this confidential until I at least find out if the new MTSO is even hiring for the account, etc.  ...

I currently provide transcription to various speciality clinics using a call-in system for the dictation, typing in Word and uploading via FTP site.  I was contacted by a hospital to do their transcription.  They asked if my transcriptionists could type in their VPN program.  Can anyone tell me how I would do QA on this then?  This would be a new system to me and I really want the account.  ...

Ouir BOB lost another large account and now there are too many MTs.  So, about 8-12 are being moved.  The account that I transcribe is going to be almost 100% ASR, and the account is being transferred to the Canadian MTs.  Apparently the poor Canadians don't have enough work.  They do, however, get free health insurance.  Now we not only have to worry about the Indians, but the Canadians too.  I can guarantee they are being paid less.  ...

The doc has contacted me and we are to meet today at his office.  He has such a heavy accent, I could hardly understand what he was saying.  He is in need of a transcriptionist, and has 50 charts needing to be transcribed.  Not sure what type of equipment he has as of yet, but obviously he must have some kind.   How do I charge him.  I thought about by the line at maybe 12 cpl, but his accent is so heavy, I am thinking it will take me a while before being productive ...
