Question about Softscript about account specifics - Have you ever been pulled from an account?

After reading all the posts below, I wish I would have asked more questions before I accepted a job at SS. I made the mistake of accepting a position because I had been unemployed for several months and was desperate. Now, after a few months of the constant harrassing emails, threats to be removed from an account if another acct spec error is committed, and also the threat of going back to 100% QA, I've just about had it. No amount of money is worth the costant barrage aimed at demeaning you and lowering you self-esteem. My question is this - have any of you who are currently working at SS - or who used to work at SS - ever been removed from an account for that one final acct spec error? I noticed last week that I had one less overflow account than I normally did, but didn't think much about it, figuring I just needed to reboot or something. However today, when I logged in, I found another account gone from my list. I never received an email, an explanation, NOTHING - they were just gone. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I've sent my TL several emails with questions but haven't gotten any answers back at all, so I'm wondering what's up.

They will just remove them from your pool and usually without notice.

They are a bizarre bunch that is for sure. I was there for 3 years and it was great the first 2 but they went downhill fast after that.

I had the same thing happen, account just gone. I emailed my manager and asked her where it went and she said I needed to focus more on my one account in order to follow account specs more closely. I was eventually fired, but wasn't making lines anyway with just the one account.

Of course, they count off on your QA score for every account spec missed, so I didn't make it out of my 90 days, due to my QA score being low.

it is possible to maintain the QA score there. I was constantly running out of work and having to pick up new accounts, and I quit before they fired me. I was worried every day that it would be my last. An acct spec error is a major error. They have a database of other jobs MT's have typed for each facility that you can refer to, but many of them do not have the acct specs right, so you can't rely on those for format. This just proved to me that everyone was typing account reports differently anyway. I don't know why these MTSOs want to let an experienced MT go over something as ridiculous as acct specs when they have someone with excellent MT skills. They need to learn to streamline their specs and lead their accounts into some kind of uniform manner instead of just giving them carte blanche. At least in this way they could keep their transcriptionists on accounts with the same or very similar acct specs.

Accounts - Disappearing

This is standard operating procedure at Softscript. The accounts do disappear without explanation. They add and remove accounts through the software. The only way you will get an explanation is to badger. Keep your ear to the ground because there is much more here than you probably know. Email privately if you care to do anything about it other than resigning.

I really wonder why some of these places have so many account specs...really. What does it matter if they dictate a consultation and the headings are in all caps or have just the first letters capped, or are bolded or not, or have a colon or a dash. Or if the doctor says "past history" but the specs say you must type "past medical history". If all the accurate medical information is transcribed as the doctor dictates, what does it matter? Is it me or what - I was always told to follow account spec and make sure I didn't use the forbidden JCAHO abbreviations. Lately if I look at an old report to get a slurred/muffled word that I can't make heads or tails out of, I've noticed that others on my same account don't follow the specs at all! Just curious how many pages the typical or average account specifics are if there is an average. Mine is 54 pages for 1 facility, IC position, scheduled shifts. What percentage of hospitals would you guess are really, really picky about account specifics; by that I mean, this doctor wants one thing, this doctor wants another, and there are like 200-300 doctors on staff, with pages and pages of instructions (maybe 20). You can read it 10 times and will still have to refer back to it for every report because of the different little quirks of each doctor. Would most everything go under subjective heading such as social history, family history, no known allergies, etc.? Why, oh why can't all the dictators on one account use the same format????!!!!! Dozens of doctors on the same account and they all want different styles. Some want headings capped, some do not. I am not sure if this is going on with your accounts, but I have noticed on my primary that there are a lot of old reports in there, from days and days ago. A few weeks back my team leader said ignore those TAT times because they were pulling old stuff for "training." It started with DS, and now I notice that there are old H&Ps and Consults in there. Did anyone ever contact a hospital after your account was lost to find out where it went and you were still employed with the former MTSO that had the account. Concerned about doing this if the hospital were to contact the MTSO and still employed there but not overly happy anymore. I currently provide transcription to various speciality clinics using a call-in system for the dictation, typing in Word and uploading via FTP site. I was contacted by a hospital to do their transcription. They asked if my transcriptionists could type in their VPN program. Can anyone tell me how I would do QA on this then?
