Lost account to EMR :( - MT4$

Last week I was told that the account I was working on went to EMR and they do not need any of the MTs on that account anymore. :( I have been sending out my resume but no bites. I have 12 years of MT experience. Where are the jobs?

I don't have any answers for you, but i wanted to say that I'm sorry this happened to you. I lost my job in November because of EMR. Good luck in your job search. I just went back to work last week. I'm now working out of the house as a legal secretary where I started off many years ago. I'm even working for my old boss that I worked for 10 years ago. Now that my youngest daughter is in school full-time I decided it was time to get out of the house.

I appreciate your good luck wish. I think I need it. I am really discouraged by the fact that there are not many job offers out there right now for MTs, and also the fact that I am not getting any offers after applying for what is posted. I know that eventually MTs will be a thing of the past. I am just hoping it will be a long time from now. I really want to stay home with my kids for at least another 5 years.

Anyone tried any other online or at home jobs that don't charge a fee to do?

work for, what kind of facility was the account that was lost, what kind of reports? We're seeing more and more of these reports but lack info to fill in the industrial picture. Keep sending those resumes!

I am also sorry you lost your job. My hours at the hosiptal I work at have been cut and I have been looking for an online job, a full time online job, but am finding it very difficult. I must have put in 20 resumes. Nobody is hiring. It's very discouraging. But keep your head up and keep on trying.

There is rumor that Transcend has lost a huge account and I see someone further down on the board figures this to be true since she now has work in this account, only she is working for a different MTSO. Anyone care to elaborate? I say this is only the beginning for them, the way they push and shove until TAT is down to about 3 minutes. You only get what you pay for in this industry. Today is Sunday, I work in the South Region and I'm getting a hospital I never had before. I have had the same hospital for a very long time and used to never run out of work and now it is just about gone. On Sundays we always had overtime, especially when there is maintenance we would always get way behind. I'm so sad. I loved that hospital. Small to medium-sized company lost a very large long-term client. Naturally, the MTs are to blame. Reason given was the work was out of turn around on weekends and MTs did not meet their commitments. I can't say what percentage of MTs did not meet their commitments. I do know that I always have. I also know that I have kept an accurate log of the work on this very large account and 75 to 90% of the time the work runs out on Sunday, with no work available on Mon ...

It was my secondary account and wasn't a bad one to do. The client got a new EMR that has them doing most, if not all, of the work on their end and very little, if any, left for us. I hope this isn't a sign of the times ahead for me. (Sigh) ...

We were told it went to a competitor and that the client just decided to move in a different direction. Can anyone verify this to be truth? After 14 years of transcribing for a medical practice, suddenly, without notice, I was "dumped." My client implimented the required EHR mandated by President Obama. I guess I was somewhat naive in not seeing this coming, but I assumed transcribed documents by a "real person" would still be wanted by my client. Now I find myself at age 57 without work. Just heard today my local town's clinic will be going to EMR in September so those MTs will be losing their job (we are only 2000 people but the clinic is going EMR), another town 125 from me with about 100 MTs have just lost their jobs and a bigger town from there has lost about 100 MTs because of EMR.
