QA & I've noticed the errors that QA finds are getting more petty to the point of ridiculousness just over the last couple of weeks. "The" when I heard "A" or "A" when I heard "the" - just sheer craziness. I assume they are gearing up for the 99.7% accuracy rate change. I figure I'm a goner soon, so I'm just typing my little fingers off in the meantime. Just my vent

Right behind you. It is like working for the Nazi's. It is to the point it is insulting, and when I ask about a score card so you can determine how much you should be docked, There is none! They just make it up as they feel. I am sure they will keep their jobs but what about their souls?

I never looked at it as, IMO, we are pretty helpless when it comes to audits. They have set it up for us to fail. 0.25 points for a "punctuation error" that has no effect on patient care or functionality of the report is ridiculous.

I have not passed an audit since the 99.7% requirement. No matter how much I slow down, how hard I try or. How many times I proofread, I still fail. My tiny inactive time is testimony how hard I am working and yet failing audits and my count is in the dumpster.

I have been an MT for 30 years, former CMT for 15 years (refuse to give any money to the current AAMT/ADHI), MQ/MM employee for almost 8 years, and suddenly I am no good???? I sincerely doubt it.

I used to think I was pretty good at my job and took so much pride in what I did. Now, it is all I can do to log on because every little thing, adding a word to make the sentence more complete if a dictator speaks in half sentences, all of that is marked on our quality score. I just take each day but I can tell my self-esteem is really taking a dive! My heart goes out to each and every one of you!!!

adjusted my standard of living to the lower pay. My final straw was QA and the incessant audits. I always passed, but they made me so insecure and nervous always fearing that I was one typo away from 100% and even less money or from being FIRED that I quit. I found out after leaving MQ/MM that I really AM a good transcriptionist, so much so that I got a RAISE.

You had it better than me and I finally quit, for a lot of the same reasons and I too found out the same thing. I could still do this job and do it well, without being docked for a coma!

I have over 25 years of experience, including QA and employee training, and the 'errors' from QA were laughable (if they weren't so frustrating and demoralizing). Also realized that there was no way I'd be able to get speed up to make any money. It also explains why their VR is so bad - too many inconsequential changes. You'd think they would know how detrimental over-editing is to VR software "learning". Later, on this board I saw one auditor post that her 10 years as an MT was a lot of experience. M*Modal's business model makes no sense to me.

ONE COMMA. No other errors on the whole entire report. It does make you want to throw your hands up and go elsewhere to be nitpicked to death like that day in and day out. I look at all the other companies' ads, and they all say 98% quality. That sounds like heaven after this boiler room.

8 reports, 1 error (albeit critical but literally only one letter was wrong), 99.6% -- which means had it been April 1st. I would have failed. Irritating. Oh, well. Just keep going, just keep going...

I had one who told me to use L for liter, so I did, then I was dinged for using the L and not writing it out. You can't win.

Use L if it is by a number and use liter if not or if the number is spelled out for some reason. This is true for all units of measure.

I am not sure if this is going on with your accounts, but I have noticed on my primary that there are a lot of old reports in there, from days and days ago. A few weeks back my team leader said ignore those TAT times because they were pulling old stuff for "training." It started with DS, and now I notice that there are old H&Ps and Consults in there. Did anyone ever contact a hospital after your account was lost to find out where it went and you were still employed with the former MTSO that had the account. Concerned about doing this if the hospital were to contact the MTSO and still employed there but not overly happy anymore. I would rather keep this confidential until I at least find out if the new MTSO is even hiring for the account, etc. ...

I currently provide transcription to various speciality clinics using a call-in system for the dictation, typing in Word and uploading via FTP site. I was contacted by a hospital to do their transcription. They asked if my transcriptionists could type in their VPN program. Can anyone tell me how I would do QA on this then? This would be a new system to me and I really want the account. ...

Ouir BOB lost another large account and now there are too many MTs. So, about 8-12 are being moved. The account that I transcribe is going to be almost 100% ASR, and the account is being transferred to the Canadian MTs. Apparently the poor Canadians don't have enough work. They do, however, get free health insurance. Now we not only have to worry about the Indians, but the Canadians too. I can guarantee they are being paid less. ...

The doc has contacted me and we are to meet today at his office. He has such a heavy accent, I could hardly understand what he was saying. He is in need of a transcriptionist, and has 50 charts needing to be transcribed. Not sure what type of equipment he has as of yet, but obviously he must have some kind. How do I charge him. I thought about by the line at maybe 12 cpl, but his accent is so heavy, I am thinking it will take me a while before being productive ...

I have always worked on such great accounts for good money. Now, I cannot find something that is even average pay.
