Are there any companies out there who do NOT punish their good employees? I have never worked a place yet where good performance is NOT punished. We're the "go-to" employees. We're the ones who can always be depended on, work overtime, do more than the required work, report to work on-time, and rarely or never call in sick. We're the ones who are told we're invaluable, indispensable, and that our company wishes they could "clone."
Then what happens? We get the crap accounts because no one else can handle them and far worse, we get a reduction...and then finally, an elimination of our incentive (don't ask me the reasoning for this; it just happens).
If I had a dime for every time I have heard that a company is "like family" I could retire and buy a yacht. If they treat their families that way, then there must be a lot of family dysfunction in the corporate world.
Don't think of me as family. Think of me as what I am: Someone who is putting money in your pocket. Likewise, I am not working for you because you're loveable. I am working for you to put money in MY pocket. You're not a charity...and neither am I.
Enough with the lovey-dovey bullcrap. Show me the MONEY.
Are there any companies out there who do NOT punish good employees? Anyone? Hello?
