I've heard a few people say they got OT this week. My account is usually pretty steady except for this week.
Whether you should take the job or not, only you can decide but don't discount everything you read here.
I weighed it all out with the info from someone I know personally who works there. She has a great account, great TL, plenty of work, able to flex her schedule.
My experience has been somewhere in the middle of her and the posts on this board. It's not the best job I've ever had, but certainly not the worst either.
I ask the same question - ST

about Transcend. Same thing, no work and countless eager new hires coming on board. Do you think that like McDonalds they want to keep everybody at part time status so they don't have to offer benefits?

reminds me of the durn telemarketing companies. Put as much stress as you can on people, then they only last so long and in the meantime you have a pool of others to choose from. It's nuts. You're not going to keep quality, experienced people this way. Just no logic in this at all. Then having people worry about not having enough work, etc. No sense in this at all.

I have a few different accounts w/ Nuance and sat around half of my day today also and part of the day yesterday! I have a couple other accounts I'm experienced on too but wasn't able to go to them. I've gotta find something else for $$$ This is not cutting it!
Many times it has to do with a certain shift. - nm

I have to wonder why nuance is posting jobs that would be a promotion to regular MTs but not advertising them in-house. As part of a company that was taken over a while ago, we were fed lines about all the "opportunity" to advance. I find it hard to believe that in a company as large as nuance, they couldn't find a single person to fill those jobs.
I recently applied and tested for MModal. Anyone know how long it takes to hear back after your test? Or how long it takes from applying to getting hired? ...
Hiring again? Ad stated if necessary, need to provide 2-3 written references. How 'bout they do the same. Doubt if they could do that. IF the QA lady (the only one they have who is crazy anyway) can get her head out of the garbage can, she might contact you with bits and pieces of her so-called brain. The owner is just as bad. Beware of this company. It is a total waste of time. They scam your lines and lie about it. They scam your space ...
I am currently working at a company and with the way things are going with all of these companies, I am just afraid of layoffs. It's sad to see all of the same transcription companies on the job boards hiring, and it seems by reading the boards none of them are worth working for. I sure wish when I decided to go into transcription I could have looked into the future a few years. I have been doing transcription now for 6 years. I am thankful I do have my job still and ...
Wondering if anyone could give me some tips or suggestions on Nuance hiring. I thought I had applied a year ago and did not hear from them. When I went back in to try again it still showed that I was "being considered for the position" and would not allow me to apply to any other job opening. After trying my best with very little resources I just created a new account and reapplied to the position. I still have not heard from them and it has been 3 weeks. I was just wondering from thos ...
How can they be hiring when they are sending all of the work to India, even QA work is going to India. Most QAs are being dropped down to MLS on what domestic accounts we have left. I guess that's the new corporate America. How can they transcribe or QA, they have no English sense of grammar. They cannot tell the difference between slang and normal English phrasing. Yes, they are going to start making absolutely absurd errors against our MLS that are left in FIESA. I don't kn ...
I have applied at so many of these companies, taken and apparently passed the tests, filled out extensive interview forms, only to have them get back to me with "we don't have any part-time positions at this time". This is getting old and I am really getting frustrated. ...
No QC work for almost a week, the "BIG new account" we got all went to India once we (US) got all the bugs out of it. Now, sitting here with no QC work and doing MT work. Yet, they are hiring more QC-just eludes me as to why! I DON'T GET IT!!!!! ...
Can anyone tell me what the terms are to get this hiring bonus? When do you actually receive the bonus? Just curious......

Would anyone be willing to post info on this? I am considering switching to part-time. Wondering how amenable the company is to such requests. If you have done this, were you able to keep same schedule or were you forced into a different schedule? Thanks for any thoughts!

I see the post about going from full to part time, but what about the opposite? For example, if I get hired at 30 hours per week and I have extra time available for a few weeks, can I consistently work more hours than those scheduled 30 hours? Thanks for any insight you can give. ...
Is this common (the 1 yr exp only requirement). Transcend has always required at least 3 years. One has to wonder if the 1 year exp is an easy ploy to offer lower pay. I worry about this since from what we can summize we will be moved to be in line with Nuance payscale at some point shortly. Is anyone else make this 1 yr experience connection? ...
Sucks for those of us with targets on our backs. We'll never see another 8-hour day if they can prevent it. See post below about recruiter, the info is rock solid, I know the person it came from. ...
Hi to Everyone:
I have very carefully studied the flowsheets from the recorded webinar. I have been with Focus/Nuance for 4 years now. My skill level is Acute Care. I work on the Escription platform. It is the only platform I have ever used, but it seems pretty good. I joke and call the VR "Victor" when it is misbehaving. Anyway, my new pay rate is 0.825 for typing and 0.413 for editing. I have averaged out that I should receive about 330 dollars a mont ...
I am considering a part time position with this company. As a part time employee, I was expecting the hours to be 4 hours a day, but a friend of mine also with Nuance says part time involves 8 hours on either Sat. or Sun. I was expecting and perfectly OK with 4 hours on the weekend, like any other day a part time person would normally work. Why would they expect a part time person to work 8 hours on a day when the dictation is coming in at a lesser rate than M-F if a weekend day is a normal w ...
Does Nuance offer flex time? I work for Accentus and they're very flexible when it comes to when I have to work; nobody says anything as long as I produce, whether I get on a 6 am, off at 7, on again at 9, off at 2, on again at 7 off 9, etc. I'm going to have a huge problem if there's no flexibility in my schedule. ...
Anyone working for Nuance ever cut back to part time, 4 hours a day? Not making enuf working for this MTSO so am getting a 2nd job. Interview tomorrow with medical records at local hospital. Hoping it leads to an in-house transcription job (they also have off-site). Should have some luck with acute care, pathology and radiology backgrounds, I HOPE... ...
1. The dream.
Attorney:
So, _________, Nuance HR person, explain to the court how it is you go about determining whether someone at Nuance is "promoted" to a QC position?
Attorney:
And in what ways does that differ from the process you utilize to assure the quality of work from the "everyday" MTs?
Attorney:
What standard is utilized as a baseline for the MTs, in terms of accuracy or "correctness". Is it 95%, 98%, 99.5% -- just what is it?
And what standard is uti ...
I just had interview with Softscript and found out that they do not hire any part-time MT's. Here they let me do testing and go to all that trouble and never even looked at my application, where I distinctly siad I wanted only part-time. Just shows how much they look at your application. So I am wondering now if Nuance hires that way. If not then this is probably a waste of time too. Very frustrating that these companies do not let you know up front.  ...
Used to work for Transcend and loved that you input your own time card. You could put down 8 hours even if it took you 10 to make your lines/$. Sorry to see employees will now have to use that same stupid clock we all do. Not hard, just a pain in the (&*&. When we were acquired by Nuance we still use our old system with time clock built in and the new one too. Then the reduction in wages. All in all... not a joyful union. My sympathies are ...
I currently work for Nuance and am looking for part time work. Accentus is hiring but I heard Nuance bought them out. So, are they still separate and I can apply? or would I in fact be working for the same company? Getting desparate for a PT job as Nuance is not cutting it with having to stick to the 8 hous a day. Thanks ...
I can do it most of the time, but every now and then I miss it, sometimes by as much as 20 lines per hour. I have had 1 email asking that I use my time more productively and make the line count. I actually do use my time as productively as I can. I admit, although I have done this for years, I am not great with VR editing. Also, with the high standards and deductions in FIESA, I really listen and listen again to much of my transcription so I don't fall below wanted numbers there. I am doing ...
Has anyone else been running out of work in Sa2 the past few weeks? I have been told to change my schedule and been offered crapola hours. Just wondering how others have been doing lately. It has been a while since I posted on here. Thanks. ...
I'm so sick of having to hit the pawn shops up to pay my bills because the company I've been with for 7 years has overhired. I've not had any work now for 3 hours. ...
After 10 years with Medquist I've decided to not walk but RUN! Does anyone know how I can take the abbreviations I've spent 10 years developing on my own? Is there a way I can copy them to a disk? Any help would be so appreciated! ...
