I don't get it-Nuance is hiring and we don't have any work???? - hiredasQC/workingasMT

No QC work for almost a week, the "BIG new account" we got all went to India once we (US) got all the bugs out of it. Now, sitting here with no QC work and doing MT work. Yet, they are hiring more QC-just eludes me as to why! I DON'T GET IT!!!!!

I'm getting very concerned about the lack of work in QC. I love my job and want to work. I'm happy to flex at times, but I don't remember ever having so little work for an extended time. I dread getting on and seeing so little to do. I'm wondering if we have job security. I like Nuance a lot--my coworkers and managers are great, and the work is good and interesting. I really, really just want to work and keep my job! Is there an end in sight to the low work problem? Any insight into this?

account with a definite shift and haven't had any work during shift since starting. Changed my shift to accomodate them, STILL no work. Changed shift AGAIN, have work in beginning. Within 4 hours, all is gone. Have been looking all night at different companies and even a different career. I LOVE MY JOB, but when you can make a living at it, after doing it for 20+ years, it's time to look elsewhere. Just think, the employees from Transcend haven't even switched over yet either!

When the Transend team jumps on with us I expect absolutely no work, there is none now! But when reports do back up very occasionally, they expect you to jump on and be happy for the work that is not even on your shift or day you actually work....very disappointed with Nuance right now.....

very worried about no work. never had this little work and i cannot survive paying my morgage, need to find another company i am afraid. i have always liked my job until Nuance took over, now i am just 1 of hundreds of MTs that are a dime a dozen. even had a team lead tell me "well you know you are in a job that doesn't pay." cut our line pay too out of nowhere. time to look for other work!

Can't figure it out either, Nuance has NO work and they keep hiring. Why don't they just send everything over to India. Just cut our pay too, don't jump on board if you have another oportunity.

Maybe Transcend has a lot of work. Ask for a transfer to a transcend account if your accounts at Nuance run dry all the time. Just a suggestion.

Don't bank on work from Transcend. They took over my company I worked for last year and it has been a weekly struggle to get in lines and hours. Have done a handful of reports this Monday morning and been on for 2-1/2 hours of scheduled shift.

Also, with Transcend, you will probably be on BeyondTXT platform, which is - sm

How can they be hiring when they are sending all of the work to India, even QA work is going to India. Most QAs are being dropped down to MLS on what domestic accounts we have left. Is this common (the 1 yr exp only requirement). Transcend has always required at least 3 years. One has to wonder if the 1 year exp is an easy ploy to offer lower pay. I worry about this since from what we can summize we will be moved to be in line with Nuance payscale at some point shortly. Is anyone else make this 1 yr experience connection? ...

WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. Just popped over to mtjobs and the Q has an ad on there for MTs wishing to embark on a world class....etc. It's unacceptable that the Q doesn't let anyone know what is going on at the MT level, starve out all the experienced ones they "acquired," then offshore to Inida and hire a bunch of newbies. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

The ad they have placed here indicates wanting 40 people for new accounts, etc. However, I just received an email about job openings for only 2 very heavy ESL 1-9 shifts. Is this just a scam so that employers don't have to pay benefits and employer taxes? I bet if there was an audit, most ICs and MTSOs would be in trouble for using that classification improperly, especially for the full-time positions. I even applied for a full-time secretarial job in a small law office recently, and was told I would be hired as a contractor with no benefits. I was stunned and declined. I see ads for Medtrans all over the internet for all different cities and you go to their website and it seems they are pushing you to take their course and then they will hire you. I am just confused because I keep seeing the companies advertise for months, yet they seem to say "no" a lot.
