just so they can make TAT and get their bonus pay. PAY US MORE.
Agree. REFUSE to work weekends or do lame OT. - anon

What do they do for me??? Pay me garbage wages, ensure I never get a bonus with rigged/nasty/unfair QA. No way do I give them anything extra.
I honestly HATE my job. I have never hated a company as much as I hate Nuance and I have worked at a couple of what I thought were bad MTSOs. Guess you never know what you have til you stupidly give it up.
Exactly. I have an interview with a different company tomorrow. s/m - nuancemt

I also have never hated a job as much as I hate this one. And thanks to no work on the 4th of July, I didn't meet the required lines so no PL time. And of course, no lousy incentive. But like I told my husband, I'm just about ready to blow this place off. If I can't find another MT job, I'll go work at WalMart until we move, which is in a few months to a larger city with more job opportunities outside the house.
Right behind you. Wal-Mart here I come. - anon

Five years ago I would have never thought the idea of working for Wal-Mart would sound so good.
I'm shocked at all the M-F people on here! - T-S for me :(

I'm on Tues-Sat and have been for years and I hate it! I ask my TL every few months if I can get my schedule changed to a M-F schedule and she always tells me they DON'T ALLOW M-F schedules. She says every MT is REQUIRED to work at least one weekend day! How are all of you getting away with it? I'm sending her another email right now!
Schedule depends on the account you are assigned. - anon

Some accounts require weekend day and some do not.
However, M-F people have to work a semi-second shift.
Could it be.... - (see message)

...that it also depends on your agreement when you signed on?
My hospital's work was acquired by an MTSO who told us hospital employees that we could keep our same schedules if we came on board with them. My schedule was M-F. A few weeks later, when my manager told me that "everyone" else works one weekend day, and could I start working Saturday NIGHTS from 6-10 p.m.(!!!!), I respectfully reminded her that I was promised that I could keep my schedule; otherwise, I wouldn't have accepted the job. She did let me keep my M-F shift because of that (fat lot of good it did, though, since we often ran out of work M-F, too); however, I'm sure that anyone new hiring on with that MTSO was probably told, up front, that they had to cover a weekend day. So, it might make a difference which way you were hired on...possibly.
That does not apply to me. - anon

I was hired straight on to Nuance. I told them I would like a M-F schedule and I got one. I think it is entirely related to whatever account you happen to be assigned.
I was hired as M-F 7 months ago. s/m - nuancemt

I believe this was a new account. I was offered 2nd shift, M-F or Tuesday-Saturday. But I hate 2nd shift and they said no day openings so I'm job hunting. You can have my shift in about 3 days because I'm quitting.

I was hired 6 years ago Monday through Friday. I was just recently told I MUST work a weekend "component" now, which Sunday was my first day. Doesn't matter to me, I'm outta here soon. Sad when waitresses make more than we do.

I am sure they will be doing that to all of us at some point.
I wonder what timeline they have to move all of their work offshore. Things have felt like they are getting weirder and weirder.
This company shows nothing but contempt for their US MTs.
I just had interview with Softscript and found out that they do not hire any part-time MT's. Here they let me do testing and go to all that trouble and never even looked at my application, where I distinctly siad I wanted only part-time. Just shows how much they look at your application. So I am wondering now if Nuance hires that way. If not then this is probably a waste of time too. Very frustrating that these companies do not let you know up front.  ...
Does anyone know of a good company to work for that hires part time?? That is all I want and alot of the companies on Job seeker's board want full time. I would appreciate any input!! ...
Would anyone be willing to post info on this? I am considering switching to part-time. Wondering how amenable the company is to such requests. If you have done this, were you able to keep same schedule or were you forced into a different schedule? Thanks for any thoughts!

I see the post about going from full to part time, but what about the opposite? For example, if I get hired at 30 hours per week and I have extra time available for a few weeks, can I consistently work more hours than those scheduled 30 hours? Thanks for any insight you can give. ...
I am considering a part time position with this company. As a part time employee, I was expecting the hours to be 4 hours a day, but a friend of mine also with Nuance says part time involves 8 hours on either Sat. or Sun. I was expecting and perfectly OK with 4 hours on the weekend, like any other day a part time person would normally work. Why would they expect a part time person to work 8 hours on a day when the dictation is coming in at a lesser rate than M-F if a weekend day is a normal w ...
Anyone working for Nuance ever cut back to part time, 4 hours a day? Not making enuf working for this MTSO so am getting a 2nd job. Interview tomorrow with medical records at local hospital. Hoping it leads to an in-house transcription job (they also have off-site). Should have some luck with acute care, pathology and radiology backgrounds, I HOPE... ...
I currently work for Nuance and am looking for part time work. Accentus is hiring but I heard Nuance bought them out. So, are they still separate and I can apply? or would I in fact be working for the same company? Getting desparate for a PT job as Nuance is not cutting it with having to stick to the 8 hous a day. Thanks ...
I can do it most of the time, but every now and then I miss it, sometimes by as much as 20 lines per hour. I have had 1 email asking that I use my time more productively and make the line count. I actually do use my time as productively as I can. I admit, although I have done this for years, I am not great with VR editing. Also, with the high standards and deductions in FIESA, I really listen and listen again to much of my transcription so I don't fall below wanted numbers there. I am doing ...
I'm currently flex part time only working 18 hours a week but I do have a set schedule. What are the requirments for part-time and how may hours per week do you have to work. Also, is there a difference between the line counts for part time and flex part time. Thanks. ...
If anyone knows of a hospital, clinic, or large practice offering remote full-time or part-time employee positions, I would really appreciate an email. I have the sudden need to help support a family member long term (in addition to myself) and really need to find a long-term remote employee position for the stability. Yes, I watch all the various employment sites and even individual hospital sites, but I was hoping that maybe, just maybe someone who works for a hospital that does th ...
Has anyone working for an MTSO been downgraded from full-time status to part-time status based on not enough hours worked to be considered full time, yet making well above the minimum amount of earnings required for full-time status?

I worked for MQ full time and then went to part time last year, before finally quitting altogether because of health problems. I seem to remember an obscure policy that if you were full time and then went to part time, you could not go back to full time for a period of at least 1 year. Can anyone verify that for me? IF, and this is a big IF, I were to go back to work for MQ, I would need to be full time. ...
Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done. I am thinking of cutting down to part time at my current employee so I can work part time elsewhere and eventually just leave my current employee once I see how the land lays elsewhere. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated :) ...
Since part-time is generally considered 20-25 hrs. per week, does that mean that full-time is anything over 25 hrs. per week or does it have to be a flat 40 hrs? ...
I am strongly considering going to part-time, just hoping to get opinions from anyone who has gone from full-time to part-time or opinions from anyone who has just always been part-time. Thanks! ...
Has anyone been allowed to go from full-time to part-time employment with Nuance? Were you able to keep the same basic schedule? I won't be ready to do this until early next year, so not asking HR at this point.
Thanks for any responses! ...
I am still debating whether to enroll at Andrews or M-TEC. My husband is retiring in 2 years and I want to be able to work part-time after that. Is it realistic to think that I can complete the course at Andrews or M-TEC in 12 months at the most, work full time for a year and then part-time after that. I would want to be able to work from home. I guess the other question is "How long after graduating could I expect to earn enough to make it worth the investment, in a reas ...
