that this overhiring would stop. It's ridiculous that I sit here with nothing to do while my company has an add up to hire more MTs. Was told it was for a future account when I asked about it. Then why are they needed IMMEDIATELY?? I need work IMMEDIATELY.

Several companies have already been reported and have changed their policies. If you are making less than minimum wage while waiting for work, especially since they have an ad up to hire more, the labor board will get after them. I know of at least 1 company this happened to and they now give downtime. Also, I don't know if Precyse was turned in or not, but they had a big to-do there and now downtime is given also. Also, don't let them tell you that sitting at your computer waiting for work is not considered work time either. Not according to the US Dept. of Labor and they are very interested to find out the companies that are doing this.

all you want, but MQ has proven that companies can get away with this practice. It completely depends on what state you live in. There are only a few that require companies to pay downtime. California is one of the states that falls under better laws for its employees. If you live there, you are paid a certain amount of downtime pay.

I'm sitting here now waiting for the server to come back up. I've lost almost 1 hour. Not paid for downtime. They expect us to work longer to make it up. Maybe it's time to contact the Labor Board. But then I'd get fired as this company is already struggling to stay afloat.

Okay people, if you were in the middle of your shift, or you could not sign on for your shift, make sure you filed a Q-care ticket and notified your CCM. Mine has been sending E-mails throughout the day stating that she KNOWS that DQS is still down even though it shows a green light. Just curious if MQ is going to try to ignore yesterday's DocQscribe crash. My CCM is on vacation so I just put an alert on my timecard. The RTL told me that it was not an alert and deleted my note. Has anyone gotten an email from BR or PK regarding Fluency downtime on May 18 and how much we will be paid? I put downtime for the entire time, because I get paid by lines not by sitting at a blank computer screen waiting for work.
