Who knows how the companies choose and what they actually go by. Too many services worked for? One would not think so because they all know how cut-throat they are and how they treat the employees. Does anyone even know how they come up with this huge linecount and then only benefits if you produce huge numbers every single day, and now we have a new rate now that VR is in full swing. Where are the guidelines? They can give you pennies and you have to be happy. Who is governing this? Where did 3 cents come from? Who has decided that 7 cents is the now going rate for typed reports and 3 cents for editing? Does anyone know what the hospitals are really paying in that they say they are doing it to save money? It used to be 14 cents a line, and that was like 20 years ago. Although 20 years ago it was 8 cents a line if you had your own doctor you worked for and you had to pay your own taxes.
Rumor has it that if you interpret Chinese you get 19 cents a word!!
