I read what you wrote and it touched my heart. You sound like a really nice person who is just looking for the right option for you. I understand that. Like I said, it touched my heart, so I started brainstorming in your behalf from what I did and what might work for you. Please don't laugh at my suggestions. They come from my heart.
You mentioned that you wouldn't be able to use the $1,000 for Andrews. I can't remember what school you were required to use it at, but I am guessing that it's because they have a DE code required for financial assistance, which Andrews doesn't have.
I can relate to you because finding the money to go to school is tough. Even with the $600 down payment and 2 years to pay the remainder at Andrews, the monthly payments would be $162.50, which isn't easy when you don't have money. If you even want to go to Andrews, which I don't know from what you wrote if you did want to but just couldn't afford it or would never want to no matter, but if you did, here's what worked for me. Talk to Linda Andrews. Ask her if she could give you a 3-year payment plan instead of 2-year. That would lower the payments. If you have any of the books already, which I did, that comes off the down payment, making it possible, even though something of a struggle still, $400 I think, can't remember.
Here's another thought I had about the $1,000 scholarship. Would they let you buy books with it if you bought them from a store with the code they need? Could you even enroll in the courses that hopefully would use some of the same exact books that Andrews uses, get the books, and then enroll with Andrews, lowering your down payment by taking those books off of it, plus, if Andrews is willing, the 3-year payment plan? Just a wild, crazy idea, but I tried hard to brainstorm ways to do it, and I'm glad I did. It's worth a try. Whatever you do, I wish you well. You sound like a really nice person and you deserve a good career.
