There is a lot in the archives about them, none of it very good. Based on what I've read, it's probably not a place I would apply if I were in need of a job.

I worked there for gulp 5 years. Hate to say that I stood by them that long. It started out nice. I loved it there. They were all India ran and owned when I started there. Very helpful and polite. the accounts were good. After their merge to US. The tab margins got longer so you could fit in more per line to make less(not going by 65 character), the accounts ran dry pretty fast. you think you got on a good one and within 30 days no work. Getting shuffled from account to account and from team lead to team lead. I left at the end about 2 months ago because my team lead was useless. Couldn't stand her. She would never answer e-mails or always some smart remark. Money used to be good there but after all the changes and their horrible VR reports. You were typing almost 75% and for VR rates. I don't regret leaving.

I've been here since '94 (with OSi). Since taking over OSi (where I was making almost .10 per line) it's been all downhill. Pay cut to .08 per line with an "incentive program" (good luck with that one). Was told could make more money in the long run with the incentive. PTO is based on past production, not a straight per-hour rate, and we are all required to do VR at .350 per line (more money out of the MTs pocked). I know, your are asking "Why is she still there?" I am asking myself the same thing. We are stuck with a nonfunctioning email and IM system (good luck trying to get in touch with your TL). And yet, they expect us to produce high numbers. Where is the incentive for that?!? Know of any good companies where a girl can make a good wage (where Nuance isn't taking over)?

An I do mean a nightmare. We were OSi and were obtained by Nuance about 4-6 months ago. Since then we have had our line pay cut, deal with unreliable email, technial issues, server changes, all in the name of making THEM more money while we are drowning. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I work for Nuance FT. Recently, the decreased FT to anything over 30 hours. The pay is par, but the working environment is great if you can deal with the technological glitches resulting from the merger. There is always a supervisor or support staff available, and they are genuinely terrific! PTO is a joke, and they do not provide paid holidays. They pay 125% for work done on holidays. It is still part of the New American Sweatshop, but at least it's a warm and friendly part of the sweatshop.

As far as I know I can't pay my car bill with "Warm and Friendly." When you are not able to contact anyone with problems, have no access to account specs, and just can't produce, does "Warm and Friendly" really matter?

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

There is a hospital in my area that has 2 jobs I am interested in, one is a records analyst and the other is a records clerk. I am definitely ready to start working outside of the home, but I fear my MT experience will not help me much in getting one of these jobs. I have been noticing that the experience level required to even get looked at for an MT job has went up. The 2 year experience mark has now went to 3 in most postings, and alot more postings are stating they want a minimum of 5 years. It is an up hill battle in an already hard market but with these kind of requirements I supose the seasoned MT's can rest a little easier and the newbies I guess can look for another line of work. I am trying to figure why I never get a call-back on job applications anymore. For instance I applied at one company who was advertising a week or so ago, I'm sure I did perfectly or almost so on the test, never heard from them, and yet now they are advertising again. it's the old question - how to get acute care experience that everyone wants - when none of the local hospitals are hiring for MT (I've checked). I was working 40 hours per week as an oncology transcriber until the company I worked for was outsourced by Nuance. Now, I am trying to find another transcribing job that does not require 2+ years of experience. I only have about 15 months of experience in oncology. Hello, I got a certificate from Allied schools that I completed their course for MT. I was under impression that the certificate was so that I could say I was a certified MT. I was wrong I guess.
