all MTs come from Andrews and M-TEC, just the most successful ones and the ones who have the easiest time getting jobs. Potential MTs need to learn to think critically and not infer meanings that do not exist. I would refer you to something called "the law of the excluded middle"--can be found in any philosophy text. All I am saying is it is heartbreaking to find people wasting time/money with matchbooks. Better to invest in a real education.
part-timers for weekend work anymore? That's the way it was done for years, full-timers for M-F and part-timers for weekends, and it worked great because so many MTs are looking for extra weekend part-time work anyway. It seems to be mostly the bigger corporations, as usual, changing things for the worse here. Is it just the laziness of the HR & management people, not wanting to process part-timers? I suspect a lot of the very-experienced MTs are working at small ...
I know this is an extreme long-shot, but I'm wondering if there are any good MT companies out there that hire M-F and pay a fair line rate (for the way things are today anyway). It doesn't matter to me whether I work employee or IC. I just left Nuance a couple months ago and am working general transcription on my own schedule right now, but it's way too strenuous for the pay rate and the work is sporadic. I've got to figure out my next move, but I hate to go back to working e ...
I have a friend who is looking for an MT job. She is just about done with school. Can anyone help me out with companies who hire newbies? I know there was a list on here at one time, long ago, but I cannot seem to find it. I think it was actually on the "old" board.
Thanks! ...
I am taking the Careerstep course and I am going to finish very soon. I hear that many companies wave their experience requirement if you take the Careerstep course, because it is so thorough and you transcribe so many reports that you can easily find a job. Is this true? Anyone out there graduate from Careerstep and find a job easily as a new MT. I mean how do you get the jobs if you do not have the experience. ...

Which companies hire employees rather than ICs? NO large nationals, please! I'm not gonna go there. :) ...

I've given VR a fair shot for close to a year now, but I still type much faster than I edit, so I've lost quite a bit of money since my account went to VR last year. I know that VR is almost everywhere these days, but does anyone know of any decent companies that still have straight typing and are actually hiring right now? I'm looking for acute care and I really don't care if it's IC or employee status at this point. I just want to do regular transcrip ...
Does anyone know of a good company to work for that hires part time?? That is all I want and alot of the companies on Job seeker's board want full time. I would appreciate any input!! ...
Are there any companys that hire for acute care positions without acutal acute care experience. I have extensive experience with multispecialty clinics but everytime I try to apply for acute care they want you to have acute care experience. ...
I have a full-time MT job working in-office, but would like to make extra money as an IC in the evenings and on weekends, but I don't necessarily want to commit to a certain amount of hours, but would rather commit to producing a minimum amount of lines per day or per pay period.
Any companies that work that way? ...
Searching in vain for companies that hire IC status with no scheduled/required hours, only requiring a certain number of lines within a 12 hour or 24 hour period. They seem hard to come by these days. Really need that kind of flexibility. Thank you, in advance, for your input ...
I am about 2 weeks away from the final and would take any advise on the final, the job search and any other great advise you can give me. I am hoping to work from home to take care of my son. Good companies, bad companies? how is the pay for new graduates? ...
Does anyone know of a company who will hire newbies? I have been doing this for 15 years, but a family member has just graduated and is looking for a job. Any help for her would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
I'm currently studying for the RMT exam. I was wondering of those who have taken it and passed, what helpful hints you might have for preparing for this exam? I've got a study guide through ADHI that I'm working through. I'm also going over all the books and terminology flashcards I recieved through At-Home Professions.
Also, how many weeks did you study for this exam? I am hoping to take 4 weeks, but have heard of some who spent six weeks or more preparing.
And, lastly, di ...
Would like to know if any graduates of Andrews or M-Tec became employed shortly after completing course and how much I could be expected to earn on a part-time basis (20 hrs/wk)? ...
I am seriously considering going into the coding program with Andrews soon. My main concern just lies in finding employment after I finish and become certified. Can any Andrews graduates share their experiences? Were you able to find employment quickly? Was anyone able to start working from home immediately? There are 2 hospitals in my town, but it is not a huge city, and I am afraid employment opportunities may be limited here locally. Anything you can tell me that might be useful would be much ...
Just curious if there are any new Andrews graduates (in the last 30 days) that are having success finding a job? I am looking to start this program soon and do not want to jump from the frying pan into the fire, so to speak...been an MT for MANY, MANY years.... Are there jobs out there? How hard are they to find/get? What is general starting pay? Feeling anxious/nervous/excited.... ...
