Any companies hire M-F? - Josephine

I know this is an extreme long-shot, but I'm wondering if there are any good MT companies out there that hire M-F and pay a fair line rate (for the way things are today anyway). It doesn't matter to me whether I work employee or IC. I just left Nuance a couple months ago and am working general transcription on my own schedule right now, but it's way too strenuous for the pay rate and the work is sporadic. I've got to figure out my next move, but I hate to go back to working every Saturday.

Any help/options/advice you can give me would be appreciated, even if it's to tell me that I'm dreaming. haha

Patient First is M-F and they pay a fair line rate. It is typing only, so no VR rates to deal with. Benefits are good and reasonable. Work is coming out of ears right now, so you won't have to worry about running out. PF is a group of clinics, not a service.

The test is very difficult, but worth it if you can get hired on.

They require 5 days a week. You pick part time or full time. I told them part time but work whenever and however much I want.

That is really helpful! Thank you! I took a look at both companies, and I think QMedET is pretty much what I'm looking for. When I left Nuance, I was hoping I could find something that would let me set my own hours because I have a 2-year-old that likes to pull me away from work occasionally, and once Nuance stopped allowing flexible time, I just couldn't do it anymore. It's nice to know you can choose part time but still work more if you want. I think that's what I'll tell them too if I get hired on.

I am taking the Careerstep course and I am going to finish very soon. I hear that many companies wave their experience requirement if you take the Careerstep course, because it is so thorough and you transcribe so many reports that you can easily find a job. Is this true? Anyone out there graduate from Careerstep and find a job easily as a new MT. I mean how do you get the jobs if you do not have the experience. ...

I've given VR a fair shot for close to a year now, but I still type much faster than I edit, so I've lost quite a bit of money since my account went to VR last year. Just a question for everyone. I accepted a position and was to hear by the end of this week from my manager about doing some training on Tuesday of next week and have not heard one word.
