Any new information on Synernet? I saw some positive sm - COMT

posts in April and then something negative after that, something about them being abusive to their employees. Any information would be appreciated. TIA.
There is lots of negative and some positive. - sm

Apparently, you want to see the little bit of sunshine coming from behind the cloud, so give them a shot. You have to remember that negatives are usually pointed out more than positives, just in life in general. I won't apply for a company if there has been a pay issue, but other than that, my experience may be different than the previous poster's experience. Also, what some find as "abusive" you may just find as "direct". If you want to give them a shot, then do so, you don't need people to back you up. If you have a job that you plan to leave, hang on to it until you can be sure. If you don't currently have a job, then what is there to lose?

I have two jobs. One, I read rave reviews on here about how wonderful the owner was, how great they are, etc. I agree, very friendly owner, but I am almost always out of work and pay is very often late.
My second job, I read many negative reviews on how they constantly harass via email, rude people, etc. I haven't encountered one person that I find rude and I do get loads of emails from them mainly pertaining to helping out on backlogged accounts and if I can help out, then I do, if not, then I delete the email and move on about my business.
This board is WONDERFUL for MTs to share, but sometimes you have to go out on a limb and decide on your own. Now, if you read a post of 10 people who a company failed to pay, then common sense would say not apply or 20 people saying out of work, then you probably won't get work. When you have people complaining about the way they are talked to or treated, well we all come from different backgrounds and different areas of the country, so our perception of what is rude or acceptable may be different.
I don't know where you get the idea that I am just looking for sunshine. sm - COMT

I simply asked for opinions. When I did a search for Synernet 2013, I found a lot of positives and just the few negative comments about the so-called abuse, which I agree, is a subjective term. I already know that they only pay 7 cpl, but I am looking for employee status and it seems they have a decent benefit package, so yes, I will talk with them. I have always tried out the new job and kept the old until I see if it fits -- that only makes sense. And I will probably always work 2 jobs as I simply do not trust any one company to continually provide me with enough work and/or job security. I recently had an awful experience working for someone I had considered a friend when I worked with her at another company. She never paid me on time even ONCE, and after tons of excuses/lies, I finally gave up on her and the friendship (although not the money she owes me -- I will continually hound her until she pays), so I suppose now I am a bit more leery of every company. I have been an MT for 100 years, it seems, but this is the first time I experienced not having a payday I could count on.
I am rambling on, so I apologize. I just wanted to get a feel for how current employees feel. I despise the idea that I might have to work for such a low rate, but if you make 9 cpl and you have to pay self employment tax and all that, maybe it equals out. Plus, I pay about $400/month for medical, dental, and vision, and someone posted that the insurance with this company is $56/pay period, so that would be a draw as well.
I actually wish I WAS the type looking for sunshine instead of fearing the gloom and t-storms that await.

I've only been at Synernet a short time, but everything positive in that April thread has been my experience. Nothing has even come close to abusive.
QA feedback consists of what the blank was or what was typed and what should have been typed in a generic, nonjudgmental format.
Benefits are awesome, plus they're looking at adding more.
I think just about everything else was covered in that thread.
Yeah... pay is low, but plenty of work, and no VR that I am aware of.

Something Positive To Say Mar 27, 2010I get on this site every now and then and it is so disheartening to see so many people frustrated with their employers. I work for two different companies and I have to say I love them both. I work for OSi and I work for All Type. Both treat me fairly, respond rapidly to questions and are nice employers. I've always been paid on time, they both understand emergencies and I make a good income from each. There are good companies and there are nice people to work ...
TTD- Anything Positive On Them? May 23, 2012Hi, I am new to this board, but have been searching jobs here. I applied to TTD and received new-hire package. I have been looking here at all the negative comments about them before actually figuring out what I want to do with them. My question is, are there any positive comments about them at all? I may have an opportunity later this summer at a job locally and have a job currently, but not sure if I want to hop into this if they don't pay. I don't want ...

Anything Positive? Dec 31, 2012I'm currently a student with a nearing graduation date. I'm getting quite discouraged lately because from what I have been researching and finding on forums is that basically there is not enough work out there to make ends meet. Something Positive Jun 22, 2013I just wanted to mention something positive about MT, my experience. There are a lot of negatives posted about the MT field on this board, and I'm not discounting anybody's experience, as, yes, there have been changes in this field, and some of those changes have hit people hard and are not fair. I just wanted to give encouragement to people who like MT that there are some positive things/companies still going on. I have 7 years of experience. I graduated from C ...
Some Positive Words, Please! Dec 30, 2009Man, I can see the changes in the transcription industry (admittedly negative changes) have really gotten us down and we're stuck in a mire of complaints, bad feelings and feeling tired and fed up! I feel the same way, and I feel that greed and the economy are to blame. But sometimes you just need to hear a positive word to make it through the day, or through the week. Here is mine - I am thankful that I do not have to spend money on work clothes and ga ...

Sure Could Use Some POSITIVE Energy Nov 25, 2010Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now. Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other. Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here.

Can We Have Something Positive For A Change? Oct 17, 2011Seriously, all I read about here are how MT sucks. It's horrible. Get out while you can.
I'm new to this field. This talk is very disheartening. Reading these threads even makes me work less because it feels pointless. So, please, can I have some positives? Something to show me that I can live off this line of work.

On A POSITIVE Note May 20, 2012I know it's rare for this board if, heaven forbid, anybody put anything positive on here.
I've complained on here just like everyone else about low pay, low work, etc., but the bottom line for me is:
I love the company I work for and have a great supervisor; they let me know from time to time that I am appreciated and let me know I was missed when I am gone (on vacation or whatever); they do their best to make sure I have enough work; they do thoughtful things, such as send birthday ...

Trying To Stay Positive Looking For Job Aug 22, 2014I have graduated a year and a half ago from school, have my CPC-A and I am not having any luck finding a job. I have applied to so many jobs and I get the same answer all the time of needing at least 2 to 3 years of experience. While I am trying to be patient, I feel my skills are being lost. POSITIVE Tips For A New MT Please Sep 21, 2014Hello,
I will be starting a full-time transcription job October 7th. I have about 3 years experience in medical transcription, but have never worked for straight production pay, never worked from home, and have never transcribed 8 hours a day, every day.
I have been reading these forums and have read all of the negative thoughts about getting into medical transcription. That's not what I'm looking for. I would like tips for starting with a new company, new dic ...
SoftScript Something Positive Nov 17, 2014I wanted to post something positive. I've been working for SS for a few months now, and I love it. Been transcribing 22 years, back when WordPerfect was cutting edge! I've worked for MANY services (MQ, HealthScribe, EDiX, M*Modal, just to name a few), 1 major hospital. Have been MT, QA, VR, supervisor, and everything in between. I say this not to brag, but so you know I have plenty to compare SS to. The work is great and always there. Pay has never been late, nor i ...
