More and more of it is going offshores and to automatic coding, leaving the work stateside to be that for complex cases. Even then most employers will not even talk to you unless you have at least 2-3 years experience. Before signing up for a course anywhere talk to local HIM directors and join the local groups. They'll let you know if your area is conducive to hiring "newbies" or if it's "good luck to ya." The national companies generally speaking don't want to take the time to train further for this - just as with transcription.
