Yours is the best explanation of the problem of micromanaging I've ever read! You've described it perfectly...

I really believe micromanaging is one of the top causes of severe burnout on the job for MTs!

Rarely, if ever, would an MT deliberately disregard quality standards; that's just not how we're wired. If there is a work issue, I'd like to see more supportive and positive engagement coming from mgmt rather than punitive action automatically taken against an MT.
