I wouldn't recommend them - SM

I went to work for Pearson about 6-8 months ago and I didn't even last a full week. It was a nightmare. They classify you as an IC, but expect you to basically be on call for when they assign you jobs. It is true that there are no work pools there and you have to wait for them to assign the work to you. They don't even ask if you're available before they assign the jobs. They just assign them and assume that you're sitting at your computer twiddling your thumbs waiting for them. If you're not available when the work is assigned or if you cannot get it done by the time it's due, she will drive you crazy with IMs and phone calls. Arrogant, condescending, and controlling sum her up perfectly. She thinks she has an amazing company and that you should feel fortunate to work for her. When I took the job, I made it abundantly clear to her that I was only looking for something supplemental as I already worked for another MTSO full-time and I just needed something as a backup to fill in the gaps during the occasional slow periods at my job and that I would also be available to work a few hours on the weekends. During the interview, she was totally fine with that, but once I started working and I couldn't get a job she had assigned me done by the time it was due in just 3 or 4 hours because I was working at my other job, she had a fit and told me that I was unreliable. That was it for me. I said, "Okay, goodbye!" Not a pleasant experience at all.
