workers as "contractors." These rates make MTs all but volunteers. Almost every distinction between employee and IC is ignored.
Meanwhile MTs are hammered with the almighty TAT. We then choose between quality (these ARE legal documents) and quantity. One comma out of place, though, one misspelled name (because it was mispronounced), and we're punished with having pay docked or being on punitive QA.
It's hard to believe MTSOs have gotten away with so much for so long. As long as no one speaks up, though, there it is.
I'll speak for myself and admit that I've been party to it by doing nothing.
