I never put all my eggs in one basket either. That way, no matter what happens, there is always a check coming through the door.
Our workload has been very steady. What I like is, because it is a smaller company, owner knows right away who is blowing smoke about how good/fast they are, cherry pickers, slackers, poor quality, etc. Those that work, GET the work. One of them pays x2 a month, which also helps.
