It is! Don't get me wrong. I was very fortunate to be working for the psychologist, right place, right time.

Had I not had some direction, I would have been afraid to "violate" my son's choices in terms of friends and activities. But, after listening, I realized it was MY JOB to raise a decent human being, someone who could and would be an asset and not a liability to society.

And, it was tough as heck telling this child, "No," and then having to reinforce it. But, luckily for me, I've always been more stubborn than him, and I remember my mom being more stubborn than me, for just 5 seconds longer.

It was a rough few years for us all.
