What about - bullying

Posted: Aug 30th, 2018 - 2:57 am In Reply to: I know that I get tired of hearing about every suicide - plastered across the news.

It's a societal issue. We should all care about this one. At what other time in the history of this country have we ever heard of so many kids thinking about ways to end it all and lots of them succeeding as young as 9, 10, 11??? This is nuts. The red flag needs to be raised and everyone made aware of how very serious a problem we have here in the US. Our kids are living in tough times right now. It's not like it once was for some of us who are in our 50's and 60's now. Things were less complicated when we were growing up. Families just seemed closer and talked more with each other. One of the issues they face now is bullying. I don't know why these kids suffer in silence when they're targeted this way, but they do until some of them just can't take it anymore. So, I think it would benefit us all if we just stay involved with the kids in our lives and keep them close so that they don't fall victim to so many bad influences.
