What's with the wooden plank?? That's horrible. And yes, it is abuse. As I said before, there are other ways to teach besides physical violence. You seem to think if someone isn't beaten, they won't learn to behave. Which is curious to me. You learned, and you weren't beaten, at least not that you've said. So, boys need a beating and girls don't?

FYI: Many children who are bullies were/are bullied at home, either verbally or physically.
