Um - Excuse Me, But..

Um, if someone is purposefully inflicting physical pain on themselves, there is a serious problem. If someone is so desperate to be "heard," that's very sad in and of itself. How deep do you want the cut to go before you think it's serious?

I hope you are not involved in this teen's or these teens' lives, what with your "counseling" of "wait until you get into the real world." Sweet of you.

Any amount of cutting or taking more than the prescribed amount of OTC or Rx meds on purpose is to be taken very seriously. I think your lack of empathy is very sad, downright sickening if this person or people are your daughters or others who are looking to you for help. If they are, I surely hope there is a healthy enough part of themselves who will turn to someone who cares.
