What about - Bullying

My son was bullied in school and when I met with the guidance counselor (with him - in middle school), the guidance counselor knew who the bully was and said she would take care of it. Well, the kid got in trouble and then one of his friends cornered my son in the locker room and said if my son ever told on his friend again, he would kick his ass, beat him up...words to that effect.

That is why a lot of them probably don't report it. The bully knows they told and then will bully them even more.

I believe it was the same bully who took the plastic ring from around a drink bottle, turned it inside out and scratched my son's neck with it. There are little "spikes" around the inside of the ring and since it is hard plastic, those little "spikes" are sharp. I had grounds to file an assault charge on the kid, but it was quickly taken care of (covered up), but I told my son that if anyone ever touched him again, I would file charges on them...I didn't care if they were in middle school or not.

I don't believe he ever told me anything else after the incident that we discussed with the guidance counselor, so I'm afraid he suffered in silence. :( He was quite tall then, but by the time he was in high school, he had shot up to close to 6' and his voice had deepened, so I think by then, the bullies decided to leave him alone.
