If you cannot say metoprolol, allopurinol, or even gabapentin, just don't dictate. Seriously - you should not be doing this. And BTW, did they cover grammar in any of your English classes, ever? Can you play back what you have dictated and listen to yourself?
Where have written ethics gone, especially with people who are apparently "well educated?" Have they ever written report papers of any kind? I personally think there needs to be professional audits by the dictators of many medical reports because, as we know all too well, they are the very people who are a danger to patient care.
