I would not let concerns about spectacles influence or deter me from a career. First of all, many coders don't even use code books. You might use them in school and then on certification exams, and never again. Encoder software contains the code sets that you need. Second, eye doctors are really good at figuring out what you need to do your job. If you go see them with your code books, and with the focal distance where you sit from your computer screen, they will know what to do.
