I've left transcription but interviewed for a pathology transcriptionist position a few months back. My background is radiology, but they were willing to train.
When discussing outsourcing and the transcription work there, the interviewer/supervisor said, "It will be gone--I just hope it will last till I retire."
Still it might be worth doing if you can get in--I wasn't offered the position but I would have taken it.
