Outsourcing signs?? - Gina

Posted: Jan 10, 2014

Hi everyone, new to this forum.  I work for a hospital and a lot of us are getting a bad vibe lately, we work from home but we are noticing little things happening, we keep losing our connections, Joblister keeps disconnecting and we are told the firewall is being updated.  Was wondering if anyone noticed little things like this before they were outsourced.  Thank you

I don't think so - but

that doesn't mean it won't happen.

Outsourcing - need a new job

Nothing like that happened when we were outsourced. We just got called into a mandatory meeting and were given the news. I hope it doesn't happen to you. It is the worst experience. The new company will tell you how "excited" they are and how much more money you will make but in the end you don't. Good luck to you.

Thank you - Gina

Outsourcing Signs - Vera

We were told time and time again the hospital was looking at a new dictation system. System kept shutting down and work backed up. Doctors were furious. Our hospital bought out another hospital and they merged. The new director called all of us for a mandatory meeting too and we were then told they were outsourcing and even had the new outsource people out in the hallway. It was a nightmare. Some us were owed money from PTO and Sick Days we had not taken. The catch was we had to work for 30 days, no less in order to get our money. We were done so dirty. I had been at the hospital for 24 years. I was making around $17 an hour and now I have been through numerous outsource companies and now doing VR at just pennies per line. I was making around $40,000 a year and now down to around $12,000 or less which is considered a poverty level. I have never been able to recup from loss. If I were young again I would have chosen another profession. Technology has killed this profession. My advice would be to save back as much money as you can from your hospital job just in case you get outsourced and if this happens at least you will have a cushion of money put back to pay bills for a time until you can figure out where to go from there. Good Luck.

Does anyone else have this rule with transcription?  I was told a while back and cannot remember where I heard it that you are not to use plus or minus signs anymore unless using them for actual math.  For example, positive bowel sounds instead of + bowel sounds, or +2 pedal edema should be plus-2 pedal edema. ...

Signs Job Outsourced
Aug 11, 2013

I have read the conversations here with such deep compassion for the fear and hopelessness most are experiencing in this transition from proud profession to extinction.  From my cocoon of full benefit hospital system position, I still deeply empathized with my fellow MTs in distress.  I have the sense that I will soon join your ranks and would like to ask what are the signs that your hospital/service is preparing to "save money" by throwing their dedicated employees into the giant cess ...

These all happened to me: Your interview keeps getting rescheduled, and rescheduled. The interviewer walks out into the lobby to greet you, and appears disappointed/less-than-enthused. Worse, your interview is conducted in a cubbyhole under t ...

Outsourcing To India
