resignation effective immediately - molleycat

Posted: Jun 07, 2014

I have handed in my resignation effective immediately. I am so tired of hearing these foreign doctors, failing my audits and working every darn weekend. I have had enough. No, I don't have a job but I am hopeful and I will be getting my husband's SS soon. I just can't take this BS anymore.

Good for you, it is just sad that you were pushed to this point and not able to leave with a good feeling. Enjoy your life now.

I did the same thing; couldn't take it any longer and did have another job lined up. I wanted to quit on the spot, so there would never, ever be the
temptation to reapply, no matter how bad it got and it did get bad and for a year I really struggled, but was never sorry I quit. My only regret was that I did send in an e-mail to my supervisor and never heard one word back from her. I wish I would have just not ever worked again and said nothing. I got a snarky call about returning the equipment and was glad to be rid of it. So you move forward and never look back. I wish all of the MTs would do the same thing to this place; it is so horrible. I hate what this profession has become.

I did the same thing - Susan

I quit with no notice right after Christmas. I had just had it with this place. Because of this job, I lost 2/3 of my income. I lost my home, my credit, my self-worth and some of my sanity. I had to file bankruptcy. I lost eveything I had worked for. I could not find another job at 62 years of age. I have NEVER regretted quitting, not once! I was eligible for early retirement with social security, signed up and took it. I am now working part-time for a dog groomer, blow drying dogs, making more money per hour than I was making at MM, and I love it. I found nice senior housing to live in and will never have to worry about working in this miserable business ever again. I did transcription for over 30 years and never hated my job so much. When I turned in my resignation, I got a phone call from my supervisor who told me if I quit with no notice that I would never be able to work there again. Ha! Are you kidding me? I started laughing and told her that I did not think that would ever be a problem for me. I have some peace now and don't dread having to do this job everyday. You'll figure it out and you'll be just fine! Getting rid of the stress will help you think more clearly. Good luck with what you do.

Yay! You go, girl! Congratulations! - Keypounder

I gave my 2 week notice but never typed a word after the notice. No regrets ever. My husband told me immediately after that that I was a totally different person. Life immediately got better for me. Good luck to you. You will realize the benefits shortly.

The same for me - Josie

I got a job outside of MT. I sent an email to my supervisor (who had always been very nice to me in the 7 years I worked with her) and told her that because I needed the money I had to take another job. I told her that I could still work but it would have to be on a different shift. The next day I was kicked out of the system and never heard another word. For some reason that really irritated me.

Good for you, I left 6 weeks ago, best thing I ever did - anon

Thank you so much for your comments. Please pray for me as I look for something else and that my husband's SS will start soon. If I can make it through the next 2-3 months, I should be okay. I'll let you know how it goes.

Making it through 2-3 months should be a - just another MM MT

piece of cake since you know you have a definite out. I am eligible for early retirement, so I don't worry about a single thing related to MM. I don't even read their stupid emails anymore.

Do you get Social Security from all of the ex-husbands and current husband?
No, just one, and it is just a percentage. - L&L
[ In Reply To ..]
I checked because my ex makes 5x what I do. However, it is still to my benefit to take SS based on my earnings rather than his because I would only get about 30% of what he would get.

Im with you - sm

Downsizing and moving end of summer..I won't "need" the job then. And the first idiotic audit I fail, I am going to tell them exactly what I think of their audits.. I will not quit..They will fire me at some point, just wondering how long it will take once I start giving them feedback on their idiotic feedback. For starters, you can spell patient correctly in the CP I work.

If work does not pick up, I will be right behind you. - sm

They want us to treat this like a "real job." I have always done that. However, after about a $15,000 per year pay cut since coming here, and now no work like a "real job," I am going to have to consider doing the same thing. I want out of MT, but at my age, it is not so easy. However, if something does come along and they ask when I can start, my response would be "immediately."

I so, so, so wish I could be you! - s

Wish I could retired and be done completely. I did take on another job though, and am confident it will turn in to full-time eventually! So sick of 30 years in this profession for what? No PTO, vacation, holidays, sick time, insurance, morning hours, etc. I could not do this job full-time (at MM) if my life depended on it! GOOD FOR YOU!

Update On Resignation Effective Immediately Molleycat
Jul 08, 2014

Hi everyone! Last month, I posted on here that I resigned effective immediately. I had had enough of the crappy ESL doctors, the audits, the poor VR, etc., etc. I just want everyone to know there is hope. I found out today that I will be getting my husband's SS with a lump sum at the end of this month and monthly payments starting in August. The payments may be more than what I originally thought. I have also put out about 40 resumes and have only gotten one bite. that one bite is a ...

How Is .02 CPL Cost-effective? (sm)
Apr 08, 2014

I don't think many with experience would accept .02 CPL.  I would imaging this forces MTSOs to train newbies.  I'm sure they have to pay QA far more than .04 CPL to correct and go over the work.  Even if they did pay QA only .04 CPL to do this, they are paying at least .06 CPL total.  By the time the new editor is sufficiently trained to go off 100% QA they have had more than enough time to realize that they will never make a living doing this kind of work, the lies ...

Electronic Medical Records Came In And We Were Immediately Out Of A Job
Jul 26, 2012

I don't see much talk about EMR taking over the MTs job.  This has happened to me with my last three companies (small transcription companies) that I have worked for.  With my last job we had an account with a large hospital that had a cardiology group we transcribed for.  EMR came in and we were immediately out of a job.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience...pretty much sucks  ...

So I Turned In My Resignation Due To Lack Of Work -
Jun 14, 2014

sent it to the owner of the company and cc'd her admin asst, who hired me.  The AA accidentally replied back to the owner on that same email chain and forgot to delete my name so it was sent to me too, stating she was "ticked off" that I quit, that they had done "so much for me" and basically that it was my fault because I didn't communicate to them that I didn't have enough work.  Mind you, we had discussed this via email 3 weeks prior, that I wasn't making enough ...
