Question on 5% and 10% submission rate - Daisy

Posted: Mar 02, 2010

Okay, if I am reading the e-mail from corporate correctly, that means that if a MT produces 5,000 lines a week, then the QA submission rate should be no more than 10% of lines which would be 500 QA markers or at 5% that would be no more than 250 QA markers.  Is that correct, or am I reading it incorrectly?  Or is my math incorrect?

Ex: For 1200 lines a day average, you get 1 report of 60 lines to submit, any number of markers - in that one report

[ In Reply To ..]
be it 1 or 100 markers, or you could have 2 reports worth 30 lines each submitted, 1 marker or 100 markers, doesn't matter the amount of markers, only matters the amount of lines submitted to QA.

1200 lines per day x 0.05 percent = 60 lines submission rate

Anything more than that and you pay.

Percentage of lines or reports? - Euro sepsis

[ In Reply To ..]
How can they calculate the percentage based on lines? If I have a blank in a 200 line report, that would count against me more than someone with 5 blanks in shorter reports, even though I have only 1 submission to their 5.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Am I missing something?

submission rate - Daisy

Okay, no I am completely confused! How can they count lines submitted to QA when the marker may only represent ONE word? How do you convert words into lines?
submission rate - oops
[ In Reply To ..]
I have asked for an example on this. Lets see if I get one. This is so amazing. Just talking in general, with the example given here, you could do 30 reports and have 2 sent with markers and get dinged? Are we going to put up with this?

What do we get dinged on, the number of lines on any reports over the 2 we submit? Based on which reports were submitted first?

Also, do we get line credit for QA notes we must now leave for the client? Wonder how our clients are going to like getting all these reports w/ QA markers and notes.

Seriously, I am ready to get a note from my doctor and go out on stress leave. This is quickly becoming a hostile work environment.

Anybody with me?
They go by the lines that are in the reports that you send to QA. - MQ voodoo math.
[ In Reply To ..]
Whatever the line count you produce for the week -- take 10% of that for the first stage, 5% for the second stage.

Then add up all the lines in the reports that you sent to QA in that entire week. Not the markers -- the total lines in all the reports that you sent.

All the reports that you send to QA cannot have a total line count more than 10% of your weekly line count. If it is over 10% you get penalized for your total typed lines for the week.

Second stage, all the reports you send to QA cannot have a total line count more than 5% of your weekly total line count. If over 5% you get penalized on your total typed lines for the week.

For those of you with long winded dictators, you can blow the whole allowing in a few reports.

Like I said VOODOO MQ MATH.

Is this fair -- NO! But email or call the CEO about it. Hint--He doesn't care.

MQ -- The wonderful world of rip offs.
Lines in report - oops
[ In Reply To ..]
Well, if that is true, makes the math easier, but really even makes it more unfair.

I just abandoned a report I was doing and I NEVER abandon. I had read the e-mail before starting work and was so upset, because this is a typical very tough dictator, and got thinking what if this was tomorrow. Got so upset I abandoned and clocked out.

Don't think I can do this.
It is not fair. In no way. Feel sorry for us with long difficult - dictators. (no message below)

nm
Gee, I am sorry. I felt that way years ago. - Keep looking around.
[ In Reply To ..]
I have been in your shoes years ago, but stuck with it and have been doing this for over 20 years. Unfortunately is worse now than it was years ago.

Seriously! If I were you, I would become a medical assistant. Try applying in some offices.

Or apply to as many MT jobs.

Hang in there.

More explanation - in that one report

[ In Reply To ..]
QA stage submission support = maximum of 5% submission of total lines produced

If you look in DQM under QA Feedback at what you've submitted to QA, it shows the total amount of lines for each report sent. They aren't counting markers. They are counting total lines submitted against total lines produced.

I was told QA submission percentage based - on reports

[ In Reply To ..]
EX: Transcribe 100 reports in a day and 10 sent to QA = 10%.

That's the current policy. - oops

[ In Reply To ..]
I know, because I have been terrorized with this policy since I came back a year ago and I was put on whatever it's called, something management, because I was not at 10% then. I almost left right then. Should have. I have wasted the last year, thinking things would get better. Ya, I never heard back on the 10%. When I finally asked if I was off _________ (ya, that's a blank) management, I was lightly told, oh ya. Craziness. Hostile work environment.

So if you send 50 reports a day you can only submit 5 - then 2 and a half?

[ In Reply To ..]
I feel sick. It would probably work out to be the same either way.

Either way we are scrooged.
QA subm ave? - almost poor
[ In Reply To ..]
Does anyone know their QA submission average? My former CTL sent me averages at the end of Dec. and mine are around 25%. I only work part time and send in about 15 reports per night which means to meet 5% I would not be able to send one report in a night to QA. The way I was told was you take the number of reports sent to QA and divide that by the number of reports done. So, 1 report to QA divided by 15 = 7%. I will have to find work elsewhere after 6 years with MQ.

It's based on percentage of reports, not lines - Just Sayin

[ In Reply To ..]
I have gotten my QA stats each month from my CCM, and it is based on percentage of reports, not lines. 10 reports out of 100 would equal 10%. Doesn't matter how many lines or blanks are in the reports you sent, just the number of reports.

First Time Right - CPL Being Decreased If The QA Submission Rate Is Too High

I've had time to think about this whole First Time Right plan.   I've seen a lot in my 32 yrs in the business and in my humble opinion, I think it will be okay except for the part about CPL being decreased if the QA submission rate is too high.  There must be an alternative other than taking away hard earned pay.  Anyone else agree? ...

QA Submission First Time Right

Awww after teleconference with the bigwigs from the Q, telling us how smart and brilliant we are and they trust our ability to make good decisions, they still insist our QA rates will be low enough and we will not get dinged for QA submissions over the 5%, because we will find everything we need in the "reports they are allowing us to see".  Yeah right, and everything I touch is going to turn to gold.  Are they serious??  I just figure lots of blanks going to clients.  No one ...

Follow-up On QA Submission Yesterday
Oct 27, 2010

On the 3 horrible reports that I had to submit to QA yesterday because of the 3-blank rule, thus losing 3 cpl probably, QA had no more luck filling in the blanks than I and sent them through with 5-10 blanks.  That makes me so mad -- not at QA, just in general that I get penalized financially when it was the DOCTOR'S FAULT AND THE PICKY FACILITY'S "RULE."  ...

Things have continued to decline over the past 3 years I worked for MQ.  After the 5% submission rule went into effect, I decided  I needed a new career, so at the age of 46, back to school for me.  I think this might be an important step for many MQ'ers since obviously the rate of pay will continue to decrease and the work demand increase.  The fact they do not appreciate our ability to produce top-rated work and are happy with mediocre says a lot for a company tha ...
