stalked & forced to keep our hands on the keyboard rather than what feels comfortable for us, now that I'm keeping my right hand on the Ctrl & arrow keys to make constant corrections throughout this ASR garbage, I am starting to have severe hand pain that I've never had before. I wonder if this is carpal tunnel. I would imagine their workers comp cases for carpal tunnel are growing by leaps and bounds with this horrible ASR program. Seems like it would counteract their ASR profits to have to pay out a bunch of workers comp claims. Do we know which suit dreamed up the Boost stalking and "mentoring" fiasco?

who dreamed it up? My production stats keep telling me to go mouseless. I move my hands off the keyboard because I've been doing this for so many years that I need to change positions to keep from getting repetitive motion problems. And even if I wanted to go mouseless, which I do not, I couldn't because of the flaws in 7.1 as I have to keep using the mouse to get the cursor back where I want it.

I'm an old timer, I'm used to using the mouse, and I will continue to do so. That is what works for me.

For years I've had my editing commands in Shorthand so I don't have to learn different commands for the same old stuff when I go from platform to platform. Invariably I get chastised that I don't use my right and left keys enough--this despite the fact that I am generally 70-100 lines over the mandatory number required.

The techies put this in as a selling point to the suits, and because they thought it was cute--neither of whom have any idea how to do the job. I've always thought VR was the same principal as India--get MTs to basically redo their work for half price or less.

The email with stats is for your information and help, if you want it. No one is chastizing anyone. They are making suggestions. These are form letters put out based on stats, it is not like anyone is personally looking at each one and reprimanding for not using the keystrokes they suggest. If you feel chastized by them, don't read them. Don't take it personal. Just do your job as well as you know how and ignore the stupid stats they throw at us.

I guess you have no idea how it feels to be employed for 20 years and then get a call regarding "keystrokes." This is rediculous!

Just ignore it and go on how you have been. I have been a MT for 20 years as well and I am just going to work as I have been. If they don't like it, they can let me go. Doing anything else will slow me down production wise

Depends on my mood how much I do it their way..Either way, the line counts are the same..But I do find it interesting that I also have carpal tunnel symptoms in both hands since starting this ASR garbage, no idea if it is from that or years of sitting here..Whatever life goes on the way I want it to, if they dont like it fire me!!

The problem is they have the wrong keystrokes for our hands to do the editing. We should be moving our hands very minimally. I use eScription for another job and the alt K is what they use and it is so much easier on the hands. Having to use a control key for something you do very often is just cumbersome.

They're programmers need to take some lessons from the escription programmers. - Much better software. NM

There is absolutely no way that reports picked for Fiesa QA are random. QA is SUPPOSED to be random. I have noticed over and over again that when I get a report with 100% QA, another one will be picked, and another, and another, one week even having 11 reports pulled! How can we be productive when we spend more time reading profiles than actual time in a report. Maybe stop the garbage, give is primary accounts, no more ASR, no more bouncing, no more counting mouse clicks, and give us a raise... I will be more than productive, like I was in the old days. Don't you love the long and drawn out explanation of the BOOST initiative. They have a VR program which is frequently only 10% correct, misses entire phrases, creates entire sentences without one correct word and they want to boost our production by having us never remove our hands from the keyboard so we can all develop carpal tunnel at a faster rate. Well, it finally happened. I got the e-mail from Boost saying I had been chosen to be mentored. I don't understand. I ALWAYS get my line count and more. I always type my hours. I have had some good numbers on the Boost reports, one 5, one 3.5, but I have also gotten two 1s, as I do not speed the report up during the report, and I don't use the arrow keys to go to the beginning of the paragraph and such. Can someone please tell me how the Boost mentor ...

This is a measurement of the amount of audio that is replayed, keeping the highlighter and cursor together and moving smoothly throughout the report. If you keep the highlighter and cursor moving steadily throughout the report with less stopping, then there is less audio that is replayed, allowing you to complete the job in less time. Boost didn't help me like that at all. In fact, it didn't make any difference at all in my production. Only learned tricks to keep my inactive time showing as less. Also, according to statistics given in the statistics report, I am producing about the same as most others - which is still minimum wage (in my state). Did you know that minimum wage will be raised from $8.00 to $9.00 next month, at least in California? So I wonder what that means for Nuance. Does that mean that the minimum line per hour will now be mmore than the current minimum of 186 lines/hour to meet minimum wage without having the company pay MUP or make-up pay? inactive time, right? "Inactive time is defined as length of time when neither audio is played nor keystrokes clicked in an open job" as per the email. SOOOOOO, why dont we all just keep the audio running as we research, go to the bathroom, etc. Just make a note of where you are in the audio, go do your thing, come back and finish up. Ok, not sure if I'm the only one who had this initial perception of the mentoring program and the BOOST initiative, but it is my impression that during my mentoring session it was kind of IMPLIED that if our inactive time decreased our pay would go up...me thinking my daily pay for SR. Inserted in there ever so sneakily from my mentor is the fact that the inactive time has NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on our daily production pay! I have a Boostaroo and it muffles the audio when I turn it up on my headset. Some of these dictators go back and forth in volume and I have caught several mistakes I made on deciding what I hear.
