Have been seeing mostly negative comments about going to M-modal and rate of pay reductions. How much of a reduction is it? Does anyone have any positive input on working at reduced rate on this system?

My last check was 365 dollars short of the prior one once our new pay cut took effect. Mind you, this was the pay cut we would never notice since M-Modal was so wonderful. I am sickened beyond belief. It is lousy and seems to be getting worse. The greed these MTSO's exhibit is astounding, to the point where they run one company after another into the ground. Add to this mix, the overhiring, lack of work, sitting waiting for work, NO THANKS. Time to get out.

I had to get a second job to make up the difference. I am trying to figure out a way to get out of this industry. I just can't believe how bad it has become.

Wow, that is frightening. I haven't gone on it yet. Gulp. I am not a big producer and that would be close to half of what I normally clear each payperiod.

Do you think it is the speed on M-modal that is the issue? Has mgmt said anything about upcoming improvements, etc?

It may work out for you if you are not a big producer. I think it is most detrimental to people who are very fast to begin with and at the top of the incentive tier. There is nowhere left to go, and it DOES NOT, as promised, make you ridiculously faster as promised. I have turned up the speed extremely fast and it is of no help. As far as management, HA! It is a known fact they read these boards. They have already sunk their money into it, they get to pay us less while they take more. They are going to do nothing about it, nor do they care. The silence from them is deafening, doncha think?

Just to clarify, my loss is around $200 per pay or $400 per month. - stressed and sickened

Most MT's went to part time with MQ and took on another job and took on 3 jobs. Then they finally the MT's quit at MQ. Most MT's were in the field for years and years which caused MQ to higher newbies like crazy and then the nerve of MQ to say a year later, WE JUST DO NOT HAVE QUALIFIED MT's WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY. DUH!?!?

Yep, I predicted that if MQ can get away things, other companies will follow.

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

I recently read a job posting that required 150 lph for straight type and 225 for VR - Does this make sense ? These companies are using the excuse that we should be able to produce "twice as many lines" with VR - thus - HALF the pay. On a report to us today that someone had a 700+ LPH rate. When I questioned it, I was told that they didn't know how that could be either, it was on the management report they got. If QC is over 10%, then the pay is 7/3.5 pennies a line. If it's that amount and the speed is just about 100 lines or a little over that an hour, I think that would amount to below minimum wage, wouldn't it? So I think the 7/3.5 pennies a line pay rate automatically is equivalent to MUP--unless the MT is very speedy. 7/3.5 pennies a line pay rate is pretty ridiculous.
